  1. Ive had my brakes on the quest fade bad trying to stop from about 90-100 so I assume traveling 65 and you have sudden accelerator malfunction (wide open) it would be difficult to impossible to stop. from a stop sure, but while traveling?? i guess maybe if you stomped them but Im still not certan esp with anti lock
  2. Awesome! Be carefull bud, rear wheel cars with new drivers can lead to trouble. Just use good common sense and Im sure youll be fine, but watch using alot of skinny pedel in corners etc especially when wet.
  3. Im not sure stomping the brakes will work. If you are traveling 60 mph and your car sticks wide open throttle stomping the brakes is not going to stop you..sorry.
  4. Sounds like you found your problem. Bad sec. injector. If I was you I would go ahead and start looking into the delphi injectors. I know there are people here that say they dont have the same spay pattern as stock and they are no good but I use them and they work fine. Also its not that easy anymore to find a good non leaking/broken injector. H However the delphi's do require some machineing to the throttle body but I did mine with a drill press then cleaned up with some fine grit sand paper and they have never had a leak.
  5. Good deal Paul, hopefully you will have a test drive in your near future. By the way, put some oil on that drivers door hinge.
  6. No technical info here but I run the delphis and i got 25+ MPG hwy on the way to branson.
  7. What he said, you only use your ohm meter when doing the sweep test.
  8. Couldent agree more, do we have a life time supply of litium? How much does it cost to replace the batteries? I think companies should focus on diesels which have already proven to be very efficent add that with the advancements of biodiesel and sound like were onto something. Some local guys I know are in the Progressive x prize comp and they have entered a small 3cy turbo diesel. He currently drives it daily and it gets awesome fuel milage and manages to get out of its own way too. here is their facebook page. BITW Technologies
  9. You know that pretty much sum up the starquest, that is why I love them...Along with my American muscle. But honestly I can make a carbed 350 chevy go fast for cheaper and easier than I can a 4cy turbo. Atleast in a straight line.
  10. with the way you describe it trying to start and that fuel smelling stain around the tubo I would say its flooding itself somehow. after you try starting it pull one of the plugs and see how they look . if they are wet that could be a leaky injector or I guess possibly weak spark. I would lean more toward stuck or leaky injector.
  11. There are a few methods but I like to use compressed air. Boost leak check another example I made mine like the one with the schrader vavle and coupler, just attach it to your turbo compressor inlet. I just requlate my air to 15-20 psi and then spray every thing down with a soapy water solution. this method will find even ths smallest leaks.
  12. possible canidate for quote of the year? Cracked me up! P.S, Welcome Jmmy.
  13. Does any one have the thread pitch and size of the head bolts? posted here because I need a quick answer. Thanks in advance.
  14. you know your starquest is cool when all of your fans are working correctly.

  17. i know Tim made a post from Nats 09 with a all of the members but I cant seem to find it. I was going to use that pic, Tim?
  18. Is it just me or does the turborusy lying under the quest kind of resemble a young Jeff Gordon. http://nyjets12.250free.com/images/jeff.jpg
  19. A few pics of my 1980 murray. Going to lower the rear this off season and look into some kart wheels. http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m97/91rangerturbo/utf-8BSU1HMDA0NDQuanBn.jpg http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m97/91rangerturbo/utf-8BSU1HMDA0NDUuanBn.jpg picture of my exhaust. taken from a kx 80. http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m97/91rangerturbo/utf-8BSU1HMDA0NDcuanBn.jpg
  20. If you have a 3 speed that is probably a Peerless 600, thats a good strong transaxle. I run a 600 too with like a 3.5 rear and a 6 inch front and it moves over 30. Yours will be down right scary with an 8" front. Better get some brakes on that puppy. lots of good build info here Heymow. also lots of tips on the 600 axle.
  21. I race mowers and if i was you right now all I would do is do your pully swap, hand throttle and maybe an open element airfilter. You can find the filters and adaptors at Ec racing. I would also look into a front axle asap to lower the front, I got mine from here Acme mowersprorts. . this is also where i orderd my hand throttle set up but you could make one easy with a bike cable. next on my list is a disc brake setup for and locking my rear axle. Ill try to post some pics of my mower later. Ps what year murray did you get? what kind of transaxle? 3, 4, 5, 6, speed?
  22. I shot my buddys S&W .500 the other day. Puts quite a wollop in your palm, luckly it is a long vented barrel so it did not have much upward kick, mostly straight back.
  23. damn it, no shredding flesh. Better get some new hollow points B-Boy. How ever you may not need them as Lil Wayne is ridding Mexico of its drug supply. Weazy F. Baby
