  1. Stock boost levels? How are the plugs?
  2. Try lifting the handle when you close the door. . That's normal.
  3. Welcome fellow Hoosier! Looks like a clean ride, and sounds like your on the right track to getting her running good. For that hicup going into boost check the vacuum advanced on the dizzy. Just pull a vacuum on it and verify it holds. Also I think board member Indiana is from bloomington and has a lot of experience with these cars and would be a good local go to guy. I'm sure he will chime in. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.
  4. Yeah the MAS,s seldom go bad and there is an abundance of those here as many people upgrade to a 1st gen turbo eclipse mass. Chances are after the motor was built they did not correctly set/reset the tps and Isc. You can get a cheap analog meter at auto zone or the like for like ten bucks. Do it Before you drop anymore money on another part you don't need. Oh yeah here is a link to the factory service manual. WWW.starquestgarage.com Use it.
  5. Rabbit I can do the same thing with the aemMy link But that does not really answer my question why HE thinks they are a hassle. I have used none of these but so I'm not biased either way.
  6. I have a ball and spring style that I made and you tighten to increase boost. You are just slowing the rate at which the boost reacts on the waste gate.

  8. Re stab the dizzy and try again. Make sure you have all your plug wires correct too. Chances are it is something small you missed.
  9. No the Isc is the idle speed control. It's on the back of the throttle body. Did you get some bad gas? How old is your fuel filter? Perhaps try checking your fuel pressure.

  12. Do a leak down check like said above. That will stop your guessing. Just listen in the intake and exhaust for a hiss, the oil cap too. You shouldn't really hear anything from the intake or exhaust, and just some past the rings (listening from the oil cap)

  14. Just looking for some feed back on vendors etc. I have seen some kits on eBay fobr about 60 bucks, anybody used one of these kits? Quality parts? Suggestions on a vendor? Thanks. By the way, this is for my small 16g
  15. It is the normal maft but is for the 2nd gen cars. Thanks, I guess I can just change the pigtail.
  16. So I bought a Maf translator from a member to discover when I opened it that it was for a 2g dsm 94-99 . Can this work for starquests? Guess I should have asked the seller more questions but I figured since it was posted on here it was for a 1g car.

No picture here but it was a 1972 Monte Carlo. 350 , 10.1 compression, ported and polished heads, crower cam (dont remember the specs but she bumped) edlebrock torker II intake, holly 750, hooker headers. Turbo 350 with a shift kit and 3.90 gears. Made a believer out of a lot of kids in mustang with that ride. And like Dave I still own it, just needs lots of tlc.
  18. Have you checked the vacuum advance? Get a mighty vac and put a vacuum on it and see if it holds.
  19. I think I read you were running Delphi style injectors, if that is the case you can get another secondary and go that route for pretty cheap with that maf-t. I also would not really worry much about your stock bottom end they are pretty stout in stock form, some have made some good power on them. Just be certain your fuel is in check and you will be fine over 12 psi. I also wouldn't sweat the cam either it may or may not help but is not a necessity to run more boost.
  20. I had some problems with it last year, both hands would go numb and tingle often. Got really annoying when it kept me awake at night. Went to th Dr and had the test ran and was told I had it in both wrist. I just changed some habits and so far so good. One thing I did is quit gripping every thing so tight when I did not need to. I would find myself holding onto something with a real tight grip when I didn't need to. I also made sure I did not sleep on my hand with my wrist folded over like under my pillow.

  23. Your first I haven't got a clue black box thing is the igniter/knock box. The little thing coming off the coil is is a noise Suppressor for the radio I believe. The white plug j think just goes to ground. And the last silver thingy I think is the resistor for the injector. Heere is a link to the station manual.
