Ok so some of you know that I have been having this problem for a while now. With summer here, I now have some extra time to work on the car and really just want to get it running right. The car is a pretty stock 84 other than the addition of an intercooler and stock diameter catless exhaust. My problem is that the car has a rough idle and misfires. the problem goes away any time the engine is under load, such as driving and using the a/c. I've read the codes and have come back with both vehicle speed sensor and o2 codes. (o2 code is still there with the engine at operating temp.) Also the car runs smooth when the engine is cold, but as soon as it reaches a certain temp the idle quality changes instantly. So far i've checked my timing, did a full tune up, replaced my o2 sensor, and replaced my confirmed leaky injectors with a new set of lsp replacements. The car only has 40,000 miles and has ran this way since I bought it at 32,000. I appreciate any help, Dan

I recently pulled a set of BPR6ES-11's from my car and noticed slight High speed glazing. BUR7ES-11's in the mail

your most recent automotive "oh crap" moment??
danmanTSI replied to patra_is_here's topic in Just plain ol' B.S.
I recently adjusted the valves on my 84 and quickly put everything back together for a test drive. Driving down the road, I released the gas pedal and noticed that the car kept on accelerating.I quickly pushed in the clutch, shut off the car, and pulled over. I popped the hood and noticed that one of the throttle cable adjuster nuts (that I had not tightened) had slid down the cable and jammed the throttle plate open. Its the simple things we often overlook that make all the difference. -
So I finnally bought some spacers to bring my front wheels out like the rears. My problem however, is that the stock 5 lug hubs utilize c-clips to secure the studs. I end up with a gap between the rotor and spacer. How do you remedy this?

QUESTION ON KYB front INSERTS

Yep, KYB 365060 is used for widebody applications. I bought a set of the others for my 84 and they're working great! -
QUESTION ON KYB front INSERTS

One of the numbers is for flatbodys while the other is for widebodys. Flattys have a shorter insert.... -
Just a tad too far for me right now

BUMP! Anyone within 3.5 hours?

I'm looking for some straight rear 8 in wheels. They dont need to be perfect, just not all banged up. I prefer if they are within 2 hours of Pittsburgh, Pa. Thanks, Dan

Forgot to mention it, but its already done. I used a 6 bolt rear from an 89 parts car. Without a doubt its definatly better! Thanks alot! I started with an 87 tsi but fell in love with flatties and never looked back!

Well I've never formally made a showroom thread of my car, so here it is. I have a 1984 Starion ls base model with 38,000 miles and counting. As it sits now it's intercooled, 5 lug swapped sitting on base 7 and 8s (I hope to find a nice pair of 8s for the front), lowered on eibachs, and very dirty. Here are some pics I took at work with my phone, yes I know the car needs cleaned. http://i786.photobucket.com/albums/yy144/danmantsi/20121111_102730.jpg http://i786.photobucket.com/albums/yy144/danmantsi/20121110_091331.jpg http://i786.photobucket.com/albums/yy144/danmantsi/20121110_091246.jpg http://i786.photobucket.com/albums/yy144/danmantsi/20121110_091114.jpg http://i786.photobucket.com/albums/yy144/danmantsi/20121110_091028.jpg http://i786.photobucket.com/albums/yy144/danmantsi/20121110_090840.jpg

Welcome, Once you go flat you never go back

Ok, so my car is 5 lug swapped using the wide body's front hubs. I'm currently running stock 16x7 +18's in the front and 16x8 -10's in the rear, and love the fitment in the rear. The front however, is pretty sunken in. My question is would these spacers work to bring my fronts closer to the fenders? http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-38mm-Hubcentric-Wheel-Spacers-Infiniti-5x114-3-G35-G37-I35-M30-M45-Q45-5x4-5-/330796737017?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4d0505a1f9&vxp=mtr Thanks, Dan
