  1. I am working on a scissor hinge kit now for the starquests. It will be a 2 piece hinge and BOLT ON. the door will use stock latches to open and close the doors. The door will open between 10 and 15 degrees to clear the latch then up to about 120 degrees, allowing really easy acces to the car. It will require 1 strut (125 psi) to assist in the opening of the door. I have been working for about a year on the hinge and i think this latest setup will be the final one. I will keep you posted on them but look for them to be ready for purchase late july early august. I am not going to charge crazy money like most hinge kits are asking, and these will be conquest/starion specific, and not some unniversal kit that you have to hack up to make fit. You will use your stock door bolts and the kit will include the mounting bolts for the hinge to the frame structure. You will have to remove your fromt fenders for installation, and drill 5 holes (4-3/8" holes and 1-11/4" hole). That is the only mod needed to the car. Of course you will have to extend your factory wiring harness about 15", but that is simple and i suggest soldering the wires, so i will NOT be including the wires in the kit, so you will need to get the wires. As for a price it is not set in stone, however i am thinking in the $350 range plus shipping for the pair of hinges, 2 struts, and hardware (bolts). They are made from 1/4" plate and are MIG welded for strength. The plates and hinge brackets are C&C milled so they look nice. I will get some pics up when the kits are complete and ready to sell. I MAY even sell pattern kits for the hinges for you to make your own, but i have not decided on that yet. Just thought i would let you all know about it and gauge interested in the kits. Let me know if you would be interested. Just so you all know i have built a Gullwing Quest before and they are MUCH MORE involved then you think to build, that is why i decided on the "lambo doors" instead. We did a Gull wing car for a guy in MI a while back, and MY COST was around $5000 with the labor of guys know how to do it. There is really no way to do a "do it yourself" gull wing kit, sorry guys!
  2. well at least you got your money back, i am still waiting on a CD player i bought from him for $50. I have tried many times to contact him to no avail, i got 1 pm about how he was tossed out of his home by his girlfriend and asked for my shipping address again, i gave him my address again and NOTHING! I paypalled him also so if there is anyone that can help me get my $50 back that would be cool too.
  3. I bought a 1g CD player off him a month ago, PAYPALLED him the money and have not had any contact AT ALL from him since. I have tried to email, PM everything to no avail, so stay clear. I know this is only $50 we are talking about, but it is the point that matters. I even bought an amp and cables from another guy to complete the set so i could install it in my car, i got the amp and cables no problem. But because of trbostar86, i do not have the cd player head unit. So if anyone knows this guy, smack him in the head for me! I know things in life can happen, and that is cool by me, at least let someone know what the hell is going on. If anyone has a good 1g cd head unit that they want to sell cheap please let me know. Again DO NOT BUY FROM trbostar86!!!
  4. SQF, i have a question about this: "the ECU has a seperate ground signal which goes to the TPS,ISC and coolant temp sensor plus a few other misc things (check your wiring dia,its pin 4 on the ECU I believe). to get an ACCURATE reading on your A/F YOU NEED TO USE THIS GROUND" I do not have a wiring diagram for my car (88) and i was wondering if you know exactly what pin you used for your ground? I am putting my A/F guage in my car on Saturday and really don't want to screw up my ECU or something so i am asking questions before i do anything. Thanks in advance for any and all help. Also when i find that pin, can i just ite the ground wire from the guage right into the wire from the pin or actually solder the A/F ground to the pin also?
  5. I have a question the WHITE wire that goes to 12v positive, can that be connected directly to battery? Or does the 12v need to be switched, and if it needs to be switched, where is a good tie in for it? I am adding a 3 wire on Saturday and just want to get it right the first time, Thanks guys and gals for all the info you all have been a lifesaver a time or two!
  6. ok, I have a question. Where do i find any identifying marks on the wheels to tell me what size rim i have? I THINK i have the 9" rears on my 88 starion, but i am NOT sure. I also have another question, if i indeed do have the 9" rears, what size fromt rim should i have 7" or 8"?? My Starion has every option known to man on the car, and i think the 9" wheels are the correct rear ones. Please help me here as i am not sure. I tried to measure the rim, but with the tires on it, I canot get an accurate measurment of it, but it did look closer to 9" then 8". Again any help will be great and thanks in advance. Ken
