Welcome to the forum! Spend a LOT of time reading on here. These cars need lots of love.

Updates? I'm really looking forward to seeing this done.

That intake is F'n sweet. Are you going to modify your header panel for a ram-air setup?
-
Actually it is. Lol. After I did this I got an itch to find a cordia for sale and the only one I saw was in Atlanta

I got this brochure with the car when I bought it. I thought it was kind of neat so I thought I would share it. http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e204/ig_yarrick/MitsubishiTurboStory1.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e204/ig_yarrick/MitsubishiTurboStory23.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e204/ig_yarrick/MitsubishiTurboStory45.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e204/ig_yarrick/MitsubishiTurboStory67.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e204/ig_yarrick/MitsubishiTurboStory8.jpg I've gotta say, that Cordia is SEXY!

Jalopnik says Starquest "most desirable used car"
Starfyter replied to Killtodie's topic in Just plain ol' B.S.
Seems like there's only a few on the road around here. Most that I've seen are either sitting or (like mine) under construction. I could definitely think of some better cars for that list. Like a Nissan 200SX, the S12 kind not the sedan. -
What prompted the change to a SMIM?

Hey guys. I'm planning a 4G63 swap in my 86 that I'm restoring right now, so I'm getting rid of all my G54 stuff. I plan on selling everything G54 related, but I haven't taken pictures yet so I'm just posting the block at the moment. Let me know what you need. Located in Vallejo, CA. Asking $200 for the long block. Here are the vitals: -Completely stock with MCA head. It came out of a running 1986 Starion -90,000 miles -Ran just fine -No issues -I think the alternator was going out, so I will include an 88 alt that I bought as a replacement -Cam seals were replaced several years ago by a previous owner http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e204/ig_yarrick/2012-02-22_16-57-03_691.jpg

Yowza. Was it much work doing the gauge cluster? I think I'd like a setup similar to that.

Lol. 510s are awesome bro. I grew up in one, and my dad still has it. He's likely to lose his house soon so I may be acquiring it... -
That brought a tear to my eye. So beautiful...

Now that is purdy What color will it be?

Help me show that the StarQuest is of collector interest
Starfyter replied to leesfer's topic in Just plain ol' B.S.
Yeah, sorry, I found that out while poking around after I posted. I'm not sure you'd want historic plates, according to the application it says you're only supposed to drive it to shows and parades. http://dmv.ca.gov/forms/reg/reg17a.pdf These guys seem to know what they're talking about. Seems kinda iffy to me. Worth it if it pays off, but if it goes wrong a potential nightmare. http://forums.pelica...got-them-2.html -
I wouldn't go so far as to say the 5.7 is a lemon motor. QC can't catch everything. I have 66k on my Magnum without a single problem, and nobody in my rather large car club has had any major issues.

Help me show that the StarQuest is of collector interest
Starfyter replied to leesfer's topic in Just plain ol' B.S.
From a California DMV document: Collector Vehicle – is a special interest vehicle of any age which is unaltered from the manufacturer's original specifications. Because of the vehicle's significance, such as an out-of-production vehicle, or a model of less than 2,000 vehicles sold in California in any model year, it is being collected, preserved, restored, or maintained by a collector or hobbyist for purposes of restoration, maintenance, or exhibition. So as long as you say that it's completetly stock and you're restoring it as a show piece you should be able to get it. -

Awesome job man! I'm definitely looking forward to watching you progress on this build.

I might be able to get a nice-ish rust free roller for cheap. Would it be smarter to just get that and swap everything over? You guys really think this one's too far gone?
