MPI general guide lines
Phillip_411 replied to Bag-O-Chips's topic in MPI/Standalone Trials and Tribulations
Thanks for taking the time to simplify some of the otherwise diffucult aspects of goimg MPI. This is very beneficial. I look forward to seeing more posts like this. Thanks, Phillip_411 -
OK guys, Which do you think is better / cheaper when it comes to Intercooler Piping on our MPI Builds. I am going with an aftermarked intercooler (sont sure of exact dmensions but it is the same as most people use on here). I have been weighing my options and have not made a decision yet as to taking it to a shop and having the tubing bent or just getting a kit. One thing to keep in mind is that I dont want to have to relocate the battery. Please post links to kits you have used and your likes dislikes. Thanks, Phillip_411

SS Brake Lines and Performance Brake Parts
Phillip_411 replied to Phillip_411's topic in Items Wanted
I ordered the 3sx lines. Then I got to thinking. Will I still be able to use these when I convert to D2 Coilovers? (It will probably be about a year until I have the money for this conversion) So is anyone using the 3sx brake lines with the D2's? Thanks, Phillip_411 -
SS Brake Lines and Performance Brake Parts
Phillip_411 replied to Phillip_411's topic in Items Wanted
Thanks for the info guys. I will check out the 3xs products. (at first glance these are still two hoses for each brake. Maybe they offer a one piece hose but I havent seen it yet) I purchased the ABS Delete kit from jolyrgr (over a year ogo). It is a nice piece. I wish I could get a one piece brake line like he sold. Thanks Everyone, Phillip_411 -

Phillip_411 replied to Big John's topic in Group Purchase Info
I would like a set of these if there is a extra. Anyone feel free to PM me if you have a set you wont use. Thanks, Phillip_411 Phillip_411@hotmail.com -
I am replacing the following brake parts on my TSI that has not been moved in 10 years. I have removed all of the calipers adn rotors. I have seen SS Brake Lines in the past. I would like a set of these. Also does anyone know of any better performing brake parts? I have removed the ABS unit and installed a SS bypass kit. Thanks, Phillip_411 Phillip_411@hotmail.com

I may be interested. I am in Tuscaloosa and have an 83 hood. I will show this post to my body man tonight and see what he thinks about repairing the cracks. I am curious though, who makes these hoods and how much do they cost new?

Some pics of connectors and wiring for mpi
Phillip_411 replied to 19cturbo's topic in MPI/Standalone Trials and Tribulations
Thanks again 19cturbo. This takes so much of the guesswork out of tracking everything down. BTW I found the starter solenoid wire after reading your post. -
Starter wiring question
Phillip_411 replied to Phillip_411's topic in MPI/Standalone Trials and Tribulations
Thanks to all of you once again. I have put a lot of time and money into planning out my mpi swap. I reallty wish people with negative opions or remarks would just keep them to themselves. No need to critisize someone for making a mistake. I have followed the guide on this forum for my wiring (Which has been great) and it didnt mention ther starter wire. http://www.starquestclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=113850. I'm sure this isint the last problem that I will have. -
From the time I started my mpi build I have removed the factory engine management wiring harness. Since then I realized that the wire that plugs onto the flat tab of the starter is gone. Could anyone else that has had this problem post on how you fixed it? I thnk you just need to pick up a 12v signal that comes on when you are in cranking position. If thats the case where did you pickup from? Thanks, Phillip_411

Fuel Pressure Regulator
Phillip_411 replied to Phillip_411's topic in MPI/Standalone Trials and Tribulations
Thanks everyone for all of the help here. I am using a magna intake. I dont have a local speed shop and I will have to order all of this stuff online. The pictures are a great help. Out of the list of parts on here can anyone tell me what adapter to use with the factory fuel filter? Also (off topic) BOHO where did you get that alternator bracket? I need one. Thanks, Phillip_411 -
Fuel Pressure Regulator
Phillip_411 replied to Phillip_411's topic in MPI/Standalone Trials and Tribulations
I will see about ordering the aeromotive 13109 then. I will also need to order fittings, adapters, hoses... Basically whatever it takes to plumb everything into the stock fuel lines under the hood. Where did you guys get everything from? Also do you guys have guages hooked to your FPR? If so what works well? -
Hello everyone, My MPI build is getting closer to completion. I have already ordered a trilogy fuel rail but I still need to order a Fuel Pressure Regulator. What FPR are you guys running and what do you recomend? What hoses and fittings do you use? One thing that I have seen that I liked is the ability to hook a guage up for pressure readout. Thanks ahead of time, Phillip_411
