Can also Mig weld it but the welds arent as nice.

Find a welder who TIG welds aluminum. Pretty straight forward stuff, I did it on my car...

Nice bikes! I've still got an 00' 929RR I built, overhead in the garage. Been mothballed for three years, just couldn't let it got. This thread just makes me want to dig it out. Stay safe and keep the rubber side down!

Looking for a steering coupler, I don't care if it has play or not. Condition is not important. I need one to experiment with. Been talking to someone who makes urethane components and he seems to think he might be able to help us SQers out....(maybe)

Harbor freight sells a good bearing seperator, which should work fine for that application.It looks like you can get underneath it, just don't pry on the cover like you said. Use the seperator to grab the bearing...maybe use a piece of steel with a hole in either end and a couple long bolts as a makeshift puller. center the steel on the end of the shaft...bolt on either side and thread them into the seperator. This is just a thought Item # online is 3979

Keep it...Coke is right...just put it away in a corner for a while....Yours is one of my favorites on here...I've been rebuilding mine for two and a half years now...haven't driven it during that time...thought about selling it, but I couldn't replace it if I did...(and no its not the one in the pic below,lol)...
