I got a 42" plasma that displays up too 1080p and its been 3yr so far and i love it Now most of my TV channels are 720 and looks real good compared to the 480's especially with the ps3 for watching movies. But the new LCD'S are looking real nice now days. You also have to think about the size of your room cause if the tv real big in a small room it just dont look right you need, to get one thats per portion to the size of your room. Need some distance from the tv if you get a 42" and up. Now for LCD's and plasma they both look good
