  1. Tech. working on it today, new Bosch coil +TPS unit, waiting for Top End down pipe, b pipe and HKS exhaust to arrive to arrive.
  2. If it needs a mass air sensor, what are my options to get one? Although listed as available in the Mitsubishi parts catalog, dealer indicates it is discontinued. Any sources aftermarket or used? Thanks again guys!
  3. Once again, thank you one and all and will post when the issue is corrected. Meeting w/tech. today printed out posts and he is going to check some of the items indicated. Some he has already done to no avail. Ordered a downpipe today, will install when it arrives.
  4. WOW! Thanks for all these replys and will shoot the responses over to my guy tomorrow (car is still there). He is waiting for a TPS as well. Will advise further as this goes on, hopefully for not that much longer.
  5. Have a mint 35K all original 87 Conquest, I'm second owner (couple of you guys have seen it). It is all stock. Needed fuel pump replacement, new fuel screen, new fuel filter (by engine), injectors cleaned. Car runs very well at idle, while on road after a few minutes of driving, as the rpms build, the car is feels like it's running out of fuel. As you get off the gas, responds better. This condition gets worse the longer you drive. It doesn't exhibit this when just coming out of the garage (engine cold, but warm ambient air temp. Anybody have any ideas on this. The check engine light is not on and the car idles well, all fans /gauges show fine. Very frustrated as is my mechanic who was trained in these cars @ Chrysler back in the day. Been going on a month now.
  6. What mods are necessary to mate this to the stock turbo? Looked at the other one on Ebay with the flex pipe, and stated it requires drilling new holes to mate to stock exhaust. Looking to maybe install the TEP "b" pipe and have an N.O.S. HKS exhaust I'd like to install at the same time. Any thoughts or advise on this swap guys?
  7. I disagree. When you have a shop that specializes in a particular vehicle there is the possibility that you have to pay extra for their expertise. I have ordered from them for a number of years (like 20) for both my Ram 50 and my Conquest. Had a problem with the Weber for my truck and Steve the owner made it right immediately. Have ordered stuff for the Quest as well, no issues. Only my experience I'm speaking of.
  8. The research I did was that these (for a number of imports) were sourced by Auburn from the OEM manufacturer in Japan. They are new in the Auburn box and after the sale, were renamed Power Brute. I called the company and at the time of the group buy they had about 30. They're as is, there are no replacement parts available. If there is a group buy, we can buy direct from the company otherwise they will designate a dealer they could be purchased from online. I bought 2 they seem to of excellent quality. I haven't installed it yet, but the guys who have, nothing negative about the product. If anyone knows a owner with a V6 Montero / Raider, if I recall, they had 2 of those units left. They also a several other makes on the shelf too.
  9. I'm not into a lot of the diff. swapping stuff, but thought this might be of interest / help. I also have a 1987 Ram 50 4X4 and did an exhaustive search for a LSD. I hit paydirt a few months ago when I tracked down a Power Brute lsd that was a fitment for the Ram 50 4X4 (4 cyl) rear diff. I located the supplier that bought the inventory of Auburn Gear and they had about 30 of the LSD units in their warehouse. They were actually JDM manufactured by the same supplier to Mitsu. We did a group buy at the Ram 50 site which was successful. If anyone is interested, pm or email me and I'll fill in the details or if this is a fitment for our cars, I can hit the rep again for a group buy. Note: I believe they will it the Raider(4 cyl.) too.
  10. I'm in, email me as well when you need the deposit $$ waltk@Carolina.rr.com. Nice piece kudos to everyone involved.
  11. I would contact them before I ordered to ensure they have a fitment for our cars. I dealt with a company a couple years ago in Canada who had the Starquest listed on their site but in fact it was an old posting that was not updated and the part was unavailable. The guy was super nice and checked severeal suppliers to see how many would be necessary in a run to do a special build for us but it did not materialize.
  12. I have interest as well.If you are getting a shipping quote, please include 28056, Gastonia, N.C. (just outside Charlotte but different Zip). Thanks!
  13. Sent you a PM on the brace. Hope we have a deal!
  14. O-K I'll bite, what kind of shape is it in? Do you have any close up photos? Regards Walter
  15. Thanks but pretty much want the ones listed only. I have a Colt pistol collection.
  16. I have a 1983 Starion for sale. It DOES NOT have the factory scooped hood with it. It has a flat hood from later year. This is the Starion that Mike Vannoy had for sale. Due to my wife's medical condition which dictated my inability to travel distances to pick up some of the 83 hoods offered for sale previously, I bought this car for the hood. It has 200K miles on it along w/ the digital dash. I have cleaned some of the electrical connections and it cranks over w/ a new battery. I would like to get about $550 for it. It would need to be towed but has new rubber on the rear for a safe tow. All glass is good and comes with the console with the accordian style door and radio bezel. It was once a Cali car so rust isn't a major issue. I won't part the car out. It is at my buddies used car lot in Charlotte, NC right off I85. I can deliver a short distance for gas$$. I may entertain trades for a Colt Diamondback or King Cobra .357 revolvers 4" preferred or a Colt Anaconda .44 mag in 6" only. Would also consider a trade on a Remington 870 tactical 12 ga. shotgun Hope to sell within 30 days as my buddy could use the space. Regards to all.
  17. I didn't find the spec sheet he gave me yet (hope he listed the mill part) but truck runs pretty well overall and there was a marked positive increase when I put the modified head on. I took it to an independent race shop owner I knew and he examined the head after the mods. I think he was a bit skepticle and he took a while examining it. Then silence.... Finally he smiled and said, "you got your money's worth, this guy knows how to build a head". Made me feel pretty good about the job.
  18. In my hast to post a reply, I negelected to thank you guys for the timely, great posts and the awesome link which was very helpful. Once again THANK YOU! I have a much better feel for doing this and as I suspected, using the pickle would have no beneficial effects to keeping the chain where it should be. Live and learn (L.O.L.) I'm actually thinkiing of doing this job on my 1987 Ram 50 4X4 pickup. I built it in the late 80's for John Baker Performance and Truckin Magazine. A guy named Dan Paramore owner of DPR Racing Development did the head a number of years ago. Truck runs well. I'm getting ready to pump it up a bit w/ dual 44 Mikunis on a sidedraft and wanted to play around w/ the adjustable cam sprocket to see if it made any difference. BTW Dan did alot of work in the late 80's and early 90's w/ some of the TRD desert trucks (still does desert stuff occasionally) I think he did a good job on the head, truck runs out very well, but there is always room for improvement.... I bought the truck new and it has 12,000 orig miles on it.Never painted, rusted or any B.S. At this point, I leaning towards keeping the Conquest (also an 87) stock. It's a 2 owner Cali car w/ 35K on the clock. Totally stock and unmodified at this point other than the battery, plug wires, 2 tires and cat back exhaust. Never painted and no stories. Spoke to both owners and have all documents. Once again, thanks!
  19. I had the head milled when the head was done and I was told that it's necessary to advance the timing via the adjustable sprocket to make up for the material lost when the head was milled.
  20. Sounds good guys thanks. How does one go about pushing in on the oil pump plunger? I will be careful not to let my sandwich crumbs or pickle fall into the timing cover l.o.l.
  21. Just a word of caution, that some of these sites aren't updated much and when you go to order it, the order immediately goes to backorder, then they ca't get it... No saying this is currently going on with the NOPI site (I ordered from them a number of years ago), but I personally went thru three companies getting the HKS exhaust.
  22. I bought a stock later year ECU for my 87 as an upgrade and he shipped fast and was able to answer several swap related questions I had. Would buy from him again.
  23. I asked this on another forum and not sure I understand the response I got so I would like to clarify before I damage a component. I'd like to change my stock cam sprcket for one which is adjustable. I recall a while ago a post to avoid the chain dropping down into the timing cover when swapping out the cam sprocket. Any thoughts on a shortcut without taking the whole front timing cover off?
