Chad Posted October 27, 2009 Report Share Posted October 27, 2009 The pump made for quests 84 though 89 is the high volume pump. There was a standard pump in the 83's, so technialy there is an upgraded "high volume" pump", but it what comes stock after 84. there is also a steel version so there are 3 pumps available. The high volume pump is the only version that has it's pickup on the bottom of the pump housing, not the back. Plan to pay between $160 and $200 for the propper pump, depending on where you buy it. Posted October 28, 2009 Report Share Posted October 28, 2009 If the block build is OEM still, i.e. OEM bearings, then you can get a little more pressure by shimming the oil pump pressure relief valve spring.
