tehzack
I posted a lot of pics!! Also, SFBMX88 did as well... haha... It's pretty simple yo!! If you just want to use front inserts, all you need to do is get KYB gland nuts (email customer support and they'll hook you up) and make a spacer (about 2") for the bottom of the MR2 inserts, easy!! If you want to go baller low like I did, you'll just need to cut a 2" section out of the strut housings, and reweld it. Rears, SHP rears are the easiest, same route. With non shp rears you need to either rethread the housings or use a front set of housings threaded portion and weld it to the rear. -Robert So you can weld on the struts without them exploding in your face? I'm a little confused on that part. I've always heard and seen on struts to keep them away from extreme heat.
spoolinturbo
he is talking about welding the housings, the strut inserts don't get welded
thagremlin
I've talked to that guy that owns the Starion, he was selling it on CL for awhile. He was running a set of Lincoln LSC meshies on it. That bronze 944 in the first pic is a friend of his. Cool dude, gave me some advice on wheel selection. Here's a couple pics he emailed me: did he give you the bolt pattern for those wheels.. i always thought they werent 5x114.
MoltoMario
You will probably have to have the hubs bored out too
dmyers151
did he give you the bolt pattern for those wheels.. i always thought they werent 5x114. Said they fit the hubs without any issues, I think they are 5x4.5". If you were to get 'em tho, you'd need something like a 1-1/2" spacer for the rears. They are all 16x7's I believe. Komeuppance
Appreciate this info. Nice clear and concise. Only question is when you cut and re welded your fronts did you also use a 2 inch spacer? No spacer needed if you are shortening the strut housings. The MR2 struts are shorter than the stock strut housings, so that is why a spacer is needed. I'm gonna do the rears soon, I'll get some pics for ebreybawdee. Hmmm... so he ISN'T lower than me... -Robert

dmyers151
I found an email I had from the guy, his name's Nate and he's from Orlando: You got a good eye dude these r a diamond in the rough, absolutely will tell u, I'm using ichiban 1"1/2 Spacers for the rear, they r safe I got mine used for $50 but they are a lot more than that, not a s*** brand but anyway, I have 2" lowering springs from h&r so the stance is quite different as u can c. The tires are 205/50/16 in front and 215/55/16 rear, u can run wider but stay with a 55 series there's room in the fender fir the rear but the front is perfect. Any questions hit me up, also I happen to get those meshies for $100 in mint, good luck let me know.

I'm confused, your running coil-ovahs up front and what out back right now? Just lowering springs?
thagremlin
Yea there just stock struts and st springs. And I have no rear interior, panels, spare etc. And still sits nice and low. Which is good because the drop looks nice and even. But I still want coilovers to be more stiff
dmyers151
That's kicka$$, I may have to do that with my Eibach's so I can run the camber plates up front and not worry about having the car sit all crocked and look dumped out back. Thanks man
