Bit of rust into the spark plug hole

next time you replace spark plugs use an air nozzle and blow all the dirt, grease and other crap away from the spark plugs. Then hopefully when you remove them nothing falls into the cylinder. I do that every time I replace plugs. On a dirty engine I'll sometimes pressure wash before I remove the plugs.

I wouldn't leave anything in a cylinder that wasn't supposed to be there. Good was to chew up rings and score a cylinder wall. A vacuum will 99.9% NOT get it all. I'd put a piece of vacuum tubing on a blow gun from an air compressor and let it fly. I did a helicoil on a head on a car a few years ago. Had to get the scraps out of the cylinder, so I Bought all the little fittings for my shop vac, stuck the hose down it and got some stuff. Then fired up the compressor and blew it out with the air. I was amazed at all the junk that flew out. I had to put my glasses on to keep it outta my eyes. My buddy's wife drove it for a while longer, then gave it to his parents. Still on the road.
