SFBMX88
First, you can find information on these things here: http://www.accusump.com/ All this is on a non-intercooled flatty, so there was plenty of room to mount everything. Had to get the mounting brackets welded on to the bumper. Power steering "cooler" had to be relocated along with the oil cooler. SFBMX88
Last part of the harness had to be done too: http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y176/sfbmx88vol2/ultraspeed/DSC01882.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y176/sfbmx88vol2/ultraspeed/DSC01883.jpg Boost control solenoid in the works. Harness done though: http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y176/sfbmx88vol2/ultraspeed/DSC01884.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y176/sfbmx88vol2/ultraspeed/DSC01886.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y176/sfbmx88vol2/ultraspeed/DSC01887.jpg Modified the stock oil pressure sender so I could monitor the sump pressure through the stock oil pressure gauge. Seemed like it would be hard to get back to electrical ground having to pass through a bunch of aluminum/clamps, so I soldered on its own ground wire. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y176/sfbmx88vol2/ultraspeed/DSC01804.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y176/sfbmx88vol2/ultraspeed/DSC01805.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y176/sfbmx88vol2/ultraspeed/DSC01807.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y176/sfbmx88vol2/ultraspeed/DSC01816.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y176/sfbmx88vol2/ultraspeed/DSC01817.jpg Pressure sender adapter harness: http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y176/sfbmx88vol2/ultraspeed/DSC01918.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y176/sfbmx88vol2/ultraspeed/DSC01920.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y176/sfbmx88vol2/ultraspeed/DSC01923.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y176/sfbmx88vol2/ultraspeed/DSC01921.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y176/sfbmx88vol2/ultraspeed/DSC01926.jpg Air charge side of sump, normal PSI after cold startup: http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y176/sfbmx88vol2/ultraspeed/DSC01994.jpg Been around 200 miles with no problems at all! Oil changes should be abit easier, except for the fact this whole setup requires 3-4 more quarts of oil over the stock 5 quarts. I will still intercool this car! Maxzillian
Very nice job! I've been running a 3 quart accusump myself for a few years now and love it. Only difference is mine is wired to be on anytime the ignition is on so it's always active. I'm loving the primer button idea though!
SFBMX88
Thanks! I really liked the idea of having the setup work only when I wanted it to. Plus with the dash light hooked up, I think it would've gotten annoying seeing it come on every time the oil pressure dropped below the 55/60psi threshold(valve opens). The primer button is wired into a normally open relay, and once pressed, will stay energized until the pressure rises above 55/60psi. It will automatically shut off.
