CaliConquestAlex
I upped the boost to 17-18 PSI tonight and took the car for a ride. See the below datalog. You can see that full boost is achieved by 4300rpm. I took the engine up to about 6k rpm and the butt dyno said it was still making power and running great! Also, after this run I did an oil change to Rotella 15w/40. The old oil looked fine. http://i1050.photobucket.com/albums/s415/apordes/Datalog_zps1a8e59a0.jpg Edited October 24, 2014 by CaliConquestAlex
CaliConquestAlex
I just installed 2 new autometer gauges for oil pressure (5727) and water temp (5737) and tested them last night and they work great. I had gauges from 101propose/Mookeeh and they never worked right. I'll update with pics once I get them fully installed. I just temporarily wired up the gauges and installed the sensors to test them out. I verified that the oil pressure on cold start is about 80 psi. importwarrior
Great videos. looks like your having a blast!car sounds like it is running great. one question. when your letting off the turbo sounds like it has a brief stall before the waste gate opens. not sure if that is what i am hearing. Also i would like to see a picture of your radiator fan setup.i know your using the 3 row. how is it holding up? keeping cool? Thanks
CaliConquestAlex
It's the bov, no compressor stall. The fan setup is working fine. Summer is coming so I am considering adding more fans or downgrading to the thinner 2 row radiator to fit a shroud. For now it's fine. Car is running great and I haven't taken it over 6k rpm yet, but it pulls hard all the way up until I let off.

CaliConquestAlex
OK so today was a warm day in the 90's and I took the car for a long drive. It got a little warm so I was determined to make the shroud with puller fans fit on the 3 row radiator. I had to clearance some of the plastic on the passenger side fan, but the spinning blade is still far from hitting the water pump pulley. http://i1050.photobucket.com/albums/s415/apordes/Mobile%20Uploads/20150412_232819_zpsvzg8huc7.jpg http://i1050.photobucket.com/albums/s415/apordes/Mobile%20Uploads/20150412_232825_zpsyvw08lc6.jpg Edited April 13, 2015 by CaliConquestAlex
CaliConquestAlex
Also, my fuel pump literally overheated and failed as I was turning into my driveway. Time to put a walbro pump in.
importwarrior
thats the stock cxracing shroud?thats great news that it fits.
CaliConquestAlex
Just installed a walbro 255 fuel pump. Man that thing is quiet. I pulled out the old pump and it was an airtex e2315 unit that whined like crazy. http://i1050.photobucket.com/albums/s415/apordes/Mobile%20Uploads/20150415_224558_zps4hfrhurw.jpg Edited April 16, 2015 by CaliConquestAlex
importwarrior
what pre filter are you running?
CaliConquestAlex
It's a Russell 6an inline filter with a metal screen element. Should help to preserve the pump.
CaliConquestAlex
Next thing is to wire up another relay that will be triggered by the fan controller to control the two additional fans. I know there's no way I can run 4 fans on one 30 amp fuse.
importwarrior
Thanks for the fuel filter info. are 4 fans necessary with the 3 row? that car should be pulled forward when all those fans kick on...
CaliConquestAlex
The car makes a lot of power and therefore a lot of heat. I haven't had issues before, but now that summer is coming, I want to take precautions by adding more fan.
CaliConquestAlex
Also, I think having puller fans on the engine side work better than pusher fans on the front side. I'll get them wired up this weekend and post a video of all 4 fans in action.
mbruneaux
Would hood vents help move the air through?
CaliConquestAlex
Got around to wiring up the two new fans tonight. All 4 electric fans are triggered by a derale adjustable fan controller. I have one spst relay per two fans. Here's a video of all 4 fans running. I just need to wrap and secure the wiring and do some test drives. When the fans kicked on I saw the temps drop quickly so I think this will be a great improvement. Added a fan shroud and 2 more electric fans: Edited April 19, 2015 by CaliConquestAlex
CaliConquestAlex
Also, I got rid of the inline fuse holders and mounted a 6 fuse block that powers all of the aftermarket electronics. http://i1050.photobucket.com/albums/s415/apordes/Mobile%20Uploads/20150418_194430_zpsflza7kde.jpg

randy
That looks really good, but won't that run a little to cool and effect your tuning?
CaliConquestAlex
No such thing as too cool in the desert. Also, I can adjust the fan switch to turn on at a higher temp if needed.
