PDodson
can anyone tell me what else I can eliminate from my engine bay by looking at the picture http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e394/XLR8N/DSC00291.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e394/XLR8N/DSC00289.jpg Edited July 30, 2009 by PDodson
Technology
You know, the fuel rail will work with the banjo fittings like on top of the fuel filter, it's the same as the rail. As for that barbed nipple, just get a block off cap for that and tap in someplace else for vacuum (it looks like that is vacuum). It's all fun and games, this MPI business! good luck
AndyW
Yep and this FPR is a drop in replacement. this is the route I'm going with mine http://www.starquestclub.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=61246
Technology
I took another look at that fuel rail picture, You are going to have to do several things there, block off the old thermostat housing, move the heater core hose and install a good sized nipple on that top hole for coolant going to the heater core. I switched the heater core hoses going onto the firewall nipples. If you do that, it gives you more room, though some people have said that the heater might not work the same because there is a valve inside the heatercore. But actually I don't think so. It'll work the same. Also, a set of injectors generally costs 295 dollars, no matter what size they are, so get some bigguns, then you can always have room to add boost, or use e85 if that's available. PDodson
for fuel control I will be using this FIP:FC-PRO-4 kit. We program it so it will be ready to run. Just tell us you injector size ,type, and any other mods to your engine. Includes: * FC-1 fuel injection controller. This is programmed ready to go, but changes can be made with software or optional hand held TD-1(tuner display). * Wiring harness made for the Conquest. * Water temp sensor. * Air temp sensor. * Standard map sensor (good to 20 psi). * TPS sensor. * Instructions. Price $495.00 If you have the stock ignition system you will also need the IAM-1 also. (not needed with MSD 6AL,BTM) MSD 6A for Ignition 65 or 75lb injectors mod my stock intercooler Magna Cyl head 20G turbo what do you guys think about this list I have mentioned above oh I almost forgot I have a wideband also
Technology
Why do you want a magna cyl. head? The stock one or aftermarket replacement will work fine. Magna is just another used head, unless you are looking for more flow, in which case, maybe you do want it (you could just send the stock head to get worked over for big flow, weld up the jet valve holes, and get it checked for flatness). You'll need to buy tubes for I/C pipes. You should mod your intercooler first, because unless you do it yourself, it might take a while. A 20g will be good for bolt-on-ability and make some ok power but get the biggest exhaust housing you can. See if you can port the exhaust manifold as well. Also, try to get all the stuff before you start, that way it'll be easier.
PDodson
I meant to type Marnal Cyl head, unless my stock head is not cracked I may just use it

jisleyjr
I have 1 of the earlier magna manifolds I have to do something about this http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e394/XLR8N/trouble2.jpg How much space is between the fuel rail and the firewall? I was thinking of using a npt to -6 AN fitting then a 90 degree bend when i did mine, i am not to the stage you are though.
Chad
you can use the -6 metric banjo fitting, that is what a lot of people do. You can tap it for NPT though for a 90* fitting, many have. It will fint just fine either way.

Casey_L
Ditch the FIP computer it is junk. Buy a ms2 v3 board. Or decide to run a 6al with a distributor. The edis will run at 10* btdc if you have the VR sensor 9 teeth after the missing tooth. The edis box that says motorcraft recieves a 5v signal (to advance or retard the timing, the signal comes out on pin 36 of on the db37 connector for ms2. The box also outputs a 12v signal every time it fires. Megasquirt interprets this and uses it for your rpm reading. I may have some if the information incorrect, I have been drinking a bit, but that is the general idea of what edis 4 is and does. The problem is that you do not have full control over the timing. Thus is why eventually I will run COP wasted spark with megasquirt for sweet anti-lag. Edited June 22, 2009 by Casey_L
