Some one (tman1112000) metioned that i only have two posts. I was on here before as revlovin but in the StarQuest update and me changing emails something happened and I can't log in on that one any more. I have had the car for almost 7 years now. It has been great but I don't feel the love from it any more.

The turbo went bad on the way home from Detriot and I have not had the money to put in the turbo and the controller I want to. The exhaust turbine hit the exhaust housing, no parts went intt the oil or engine.

eeaston is familiar with my motor and will verify if you have questions.

Is the flywheel a 240mm or 225. How lightened is it? I have a 87 so my flywheel is a 225, I was told that i need to go to a 240mm. Is the disk a solid hub or a spring hub? How much shipped to 71303? Thanks, gary

Sorry everyone I dropped out of sight for a few days. Tests and Labs piled up this week. I am finally getting to my email.

The short shifter has been spoken for by starion0532??? hope i got that right. The plastic piece on the end of a stedebanni shifter looks a little different than the platic ball. I believe it will work but I don't know for sure. Somewhere on this site is contact info for Jeff @ Stedebanni. I think in one of the group buy threads. This shifter is sold as is.

The Flywheel. I don't remember for sure but I have to take pictures of it tomorrow so I will measure it. It is a sprung hub but they are not the wussy stock springs. It is a heavy duty McCleod disc.

I will be back on here probably Sunday and catch up the rest. With pics and all. I am not a flake just super busy with engineering classes and work.

Thanks Phil

what is the hp on the motor? estimate

where and how much for motor?

The motor was putting out about 220 with 12 pounds of boost. The horse power output in your set up totally depends on how much boost and how well tuned it is. This motor is well set up but I wouldn't put over 23 or so psi of boost to it simply because of the hyper utectic pistons. The rest of the motor is built to handle 30 psi.

I had MSD ignition, 2.5 exhaust, header, larger turbo, additional injector controller, open element air filter, larger OVC pipe. These will all improve horse power. I never pushed this motor to what it was capable of because I did an internship in Detroit for the summer and it was my transportation.

Everything is in Salt Lake City Utah where I live.

The motor was put in the car right before I left to Detroit (special thanks to eeaston), was driven that summer in Detroit and then driven home at the end of the summer. About 100 miles from home is when the turbo issue started.

It has been started regularly since then but not driven. As stated before the oil was not contaminated.

  • 4 weeks later...

Aw revlovin you're getting rid of your ride. Bummer dude. I'd like to have a look at that header and stainless heat shield if they're still available.

I don't remember you having a header when you came over to my place with eeaston? I finally threw that Super 16 G into my ride. And yowza what a difference 25 PSI of much colder pressure makes on these things. The G-Tech says I'm trappin' 109.9 now @ 13.3 seconds in the 1/4. Any way if you have some pics I'd like to see them. And since we're not that far apart I could swing by or something.

Later,

Dave aka Turbo

Hey Turbo

I didn't have it done when we went over to your place. Eric and I built them around the same time but he finished his first. I put it on the car right before I went to Detroit. I mean the day before I went to Detroit.

If you need anything let me know. I am sending the car to the junk yard pretty quick.
