gofastredstar
What is the best bang for the buck? Looking for clarity, not thump. Pushing them with a Power Acoustik LT980. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-esXOIfD0Ep5/c...mp;I=023TSW1000 http://www.crutchfield.com/S-esXOIfD0Ep5/c...&I=1081030W http://www.crutchfield.com/S-esXOIfD0Ep5/c...mp;I=500SWE1041 Thanks
emann420
How about this one. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-DHuCRuOu0oU/c...&I=1081230W It's $10 more but, it's 2 db more efficient, and one twelve has the cone area of 2 1/2 ten inch speakers(more output, you can always turn it down but never up). If not, the Kappa Perfects are my favorite in the twelves, the Reference ten should be OK. Watch out for the dust cap coming unglued on the Reference, I assume Infinity has fixed the problem by now. gofastredstar
thanks emann420. looking to buy two subs, and was leaning towards 10" because of the size. I take it that you think the Infinity subs are the best?
860QuestTuner
JBL and Audiobahn are some nice highquality stuff.
emann420
The sub that sounds the best to you, fits in the spot you want it to go, handles the power you want to send it, is the right sub for you. The Kappa Perfect 12 is an awsome speaker in my opinion because: 1. It is efficient enough and handle enough power to get some good output 2. It plays extremly low 3. It sounds great for classical, jazz, and rap/techno in one cubic foot of airspace or great for rock, pop and electric guitar in a .88 cu.ft. box, both sealed of course. They come in single voice coil 4 ohm or dual 4 ohm models. 4. Price, you can find them for $150 and they out perform all of the high-end subs I've sold in the last few years(the $600 ones). Use your ears and your walet wisely. E-Mann
JustPaus_88TSi
Once again I agree with Emann on the Kappa's.. Awesome subs for SQ.. I've had audiobahns also and would recommend them.. At least the aw1000q, aw1200q aw1500q and so on.. Not the flame ones.. My old aw1500 had a 94db effeciency... Emann... Have you tested any RE's(Resonant Engineering) XXX's? I just put a XXX 15 in a Cavalier, off a Orion 2500d(around 26-2700w@1ohm)... It's SQ oriented but gets very loud.. I put it in a 6cu.ft. box with 90sq.in of port tuned to 32hz... A bit much for alot of people, but it just makes me smile ;D...
TsiRacer
Well I have the perfect 10s and they are the best subs Ive owned or heard for that. I can play just about everything and they sound very tight.
emann420
JustPaus, I haven't heard or seen the REs, I'll look them up. Blown88, the 10's are perfect for most people, I perfer a subwoofer with alittle more take-your-beath-a-way output. Â I've got two 12s in two cubic feet of airspace and only lost a seven inch deep footprint in the trunk. Â Add 1200 watts of real power and your there. Â I can have all that sound, two bags of golf culbs and my fully accessable spare tire. I'm working on a project right now that should be unveiled mid Febuary, I'll post it in the B.S. forum. I had a Orion XTR 12 in a 1.5 cu. ft. box with 150 watts of Alpine(no balls) power and pulled 142 db, one sub done right is plenty for our cars. tmendeol
I've had one of the older models of this guy: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-Sbj21EkgS5P/c...mp;search=s15l7 ...and I absolutely loved it. I called it thumper. Buy it on ebay for half the price in that link. A friend of mine had an old W6 JL Audio subwoofer and it was amazing. Super tight bass that got way louder than I cared to try and hear. Amazing speaker. -Tim
