importwarrior
glen said he can get 2nd gen magna heads for 480 to 500, shipping included to the USA. australian dollar for one is like head = 550 AUD shipping = 200AUD for the GP he stated 5 0f them for, head = 500 AUD Shiping = 200 AUD converted to US currency = 454.72 i used www.xe.com/ucc/ to convert the price and it was right on with glen's quote. it is a bare head somthing like the marnal, with cam journals only and a 3 angle on the valve seats. just wondering if anyone with experience can possibly consider this what do you guys think? is it too much? CHC
I'd be in for that. will take time to make the hoods(for the cash) to buy but, hell yeah. I need a new head anyway...
TopDawg_43
What is the difference in a stock G54b head and a 2nd gen magna head? What are the pros? And is there anybody out there already running this setup?
importwarrior
pro's you wil have to ask the experts like shawn silva or tim C mike K but as far as i know it flows realy well stock is almost as good as a mildly ported marnal and it is a non jet valve head, can anyone else tell us more. thanks
importwarrior
also it might take 5 days to 3 weeks to get to your location depending how long it sits in customs

importwarrior
we need to get someone to take charge of this Group Purchase, i was just asking glen if it was possible to do a gp. he said yes and now we need some one to do the work, BUT i will ask glen tonight for a set price and get back to you all, then i will take names, ok, ps we might be able to save on shipping if we ship all of them to a central location then send them to who ever is in the GP. your thoughts? importwarrior
One more thing, does anyone know if it is a direct bolt on for our stock intake or not? that we need to know before we wast time here.
Boosted_One
The head is different. It has a larger water port on the intake side. You will need an unmodified magna or custom intake with the Gen 2 heads.

importwarrior
can you tell the difference? looks a lot like a marnal even the chambers he has an adapter plate made up so no mods are needed with our stock intakes he stated 50 more for the plate, http://users.lvcm.com/starquest/pics/magna/head1.JPG http://users.lvcm.com/starquest/pics/magna/head2.JPG http://users.lvcm.com/starquest/pics/magna/head3.JPG http://users.lvcm.com/starquest/pics/magna/head4.JPG
importwarrior
well whats better ? 2nd gen or 3rd gen? whats your guys thoughts?
importwarrior
Rob, yep that's the best flowing head.. with the most porting potential! The gen3 head has the same port design. but does not fly quite as well in stock form as the gen 2 because of the combustion chamber design.. I am yet to test a gen3 head myself but I think it might b the best. the gen 2 is tried and tested, BUT I have a feeling that the fastest 2.6 in Australia is running the gen3 have attached some pix of a gen3. then gen 3 is however about $100 more.. I have not priced one for a while so I cant remember plus u will have to build the motor to match the smaller combustion chamber to get the desired CR. There is a 20kg limit with items so I cant post more than 1 head at a time anyway. So I don't mind shipping to different addresses. But if we end up with a GP/cheaper prices. I do want a one lump sum payment.. (stops ppl pulling out and me ending up selling about 3 ppl a head very cheap.) 500 is already quite cheap the gen 1 head is about $100 cheaper than that if anyone just wants a new head that's still a little better than stock. the adapter and gaskets $50aus not USA, Cheers 3rd GEN Pics: http://users.lvcm.com/starquest/pics/magna/3rdgenmagna.jpg http://users.lvcm.com/starquest/pics/magna/3rdgenmagna1.jpg
