Can't remember my log-on for my Esi-type? account, so gotta use my brothers.

Here are some pictures of my shaved handles. I can't wait to see them painted.

I used my keyless entry and wired it to charge the solenoids. I got the solenoids for summit for $25 a piece.

This one is a picture of were I mounted the solenoid in the door.

This one is from the inside of the door. If you trace the black cable up to the silver part, that's where I connected the cable. I had to cut the rod out that was pulled down when door handle was used. That's where the cable was hooked up to

This is a pic of the mounting screws from the outside of the door. I used the existing hole and drilled a new one.

This is a pic from tonight.....that's fresh primer on the door.

The car is going to be pained black, but is originally red.

I looks great.  So you aren't using any poppers or does the solenoid do that as well as yank on the latch?  I've been thinking of doing the same to the TSI when I get it painted in a year or two.  It is rather cool.

I was thinking about doing this on my viper blue car.   It looks real nice!  A friend of mine has shaved doors on his dropped and chopped 54 chevy.  He sometimes has transmitter problems (of course only when he is very far away from home, hehe).  He carries two remotes when he goes more than 30 minutes from his house.

However on a quest, you still have the key for the trunk.  So if a transmitter gives out you can still open the trunk with a key and climb on in.

Good job, it looks great.

I really love viper blue, Kev. If the car wasn't a daily drive it would be blue. Black is way less of a cop magnet!! In one case my brother got away from the cops because his car is black.

I'm going to paint my black too. It will be cool to have 2 black starions in the driveway. That and the on 2 in town will be black, that will throw people off.

The tranmitter I am using is actually a keyless entry. I wired the lock to open the drivers side door and unlock for passanger side. I want to wire the options or trunk button to arm the alarm.

I should not have an issues with the remote or unit at all. If I do, I have safety buttons wired under the false floor in the trunk right by the reciever.
