curt_gendron
Hrm, I may try and go to this, Curt do you have a small convoy going with you? There has been some talk of a few others from the Minneapolis area going down, but nothing solid yet.
TexasQuest
Yep the Normal plant is closing. Mitsubishi is moving production out of the U.S.
curt_gendron
Right now Mitsubishi is only producing the Outlander Sport at the Normal, IL plant. And it sounds a lot of those were being exported to Asia anyways. They mine as well build them in Asia at that point. Its sad that all those workers are losing their jobs and I'm sure it will hurt the rest of the economy in the Bloomington/Normal area. But it is what it is. Mitsubishi needs to figure out how to market their product in the United States. Because they've really been sucking at it for the last 10 years. TexasQuest
Supposedly their working on a restructuring plan that includes the U.S. market. Only time will tell. As for the plant, other companies are looking to take it over so jobs will return, just not for Mitsubishi.

cheesey
There was one. It was sad to hear the workers stories. It seemed like they took a lot of pride in what they did there. Nice clean facility. I went on the last tour of the factory. Here's some pics. http://i867.photobucket.com/albums/ab231/Cheesey_50/DSC07027_zpsakcqx1c1.jpg http://i867.photobucket.com/albums/ab231/Cheesey_50/DSC07025_zpsclrthduh.jpg http://i867.photobucket.com/albums/ab231/Cheesey_50/DSC07024_zpsuzm8cmtr.jpg
