(wanna do comp test before i take off timing cover) or would it try to start?? (I am gettin no ignition or it even trying to start after replacing the headgasket!! scott87star Posted January 16, 2015 Report Share Posted January 16, 2015 It wouldn't get the same compression as a motor timed correctly. Do a compression test. No ignition isn't related to the cam being off a tooth. Is the coil sparking? Not the plugs but the coil itself, start at the beginning. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

techboy Posted January 17, 2015 Report Share Posted January 17, 2015 If it were only off by one tooth it would start, but it might run a little rough or even backfire. If it's not even starting and you have spark it's probably something else. Have you checked for fuel? With a 12' wire you use the test connector in the passenger fender and check to make sure you fuel pump is kicking on. Check your injectors and your injector connectors too.
