jtmuncher
Ordered the aeromotive 340 in tank. A buddy is giving me a used Bosch 044 in line. So aside from injectors I'm hoping my fuel system will be good to go. I'm debating on whether to buy cams or injectors next. Tough decision... jtmuncher
Picked up a set of stock usdm cams for under 100 bucks. For those that may not know, the 2j usdm intake cam has a bit more lift/duration than the JDM intake cam. It yields some where around 8hp over the jdm. The exh cams are the same. This will be fine for me for now until I save up enough for hks 264's. I'm on the hunt now for some ID injectors...I believe 850cc-1000cc high imp will be enough. jtmuncher
Since I'm needing the plugs to the ecu that are usually missing does anyone know if these can found at the junkyard and if they might be the same as the na 2jz or 1jz? BOHO
http://www.tweakdperformance.com/onlinestore/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2&products_id=12 This one?
jtmuncher
Thanks. I was gonna order that one last night but was just wondering if I could find it at the salvage yard for cheaper and with the wiring connections already secured. Ill be there tomorrow anyway. The 1uz, if I'm not mistaken, is the Toyota v8. I doubt there will be any of those laying at the junkyard but we will see tomorrow. BOHO
I'm sure there are a few sc400's out there.
jtmuncher
Yup there were several. However the plugs were different. I was able to find one off an na 2jz lexus. I also found coil connectors off a tercel that fit perfectly on the 2j coils. Cam gears, usdm cams, Injectors, Radiator, rad hoses, intercooler piping all coming in this week. jtmuncher
Just to clarify...will this Cluth kit work for my set up running the r154? I also need I order a 1jz flywheel... Man this is going much slower than I thought. Thanks http://www.nopi.com/dsp_part_detail.php?vnopinum=365+4812
BOHO
Yes that is the clutch 19cturbo and I are running. I love it. I'm only around 400hp right now but it has stock pedal feel and is very streetable.
jtmuncher
Cool thanks. Ordered from nopi...got a call this afternoon informing me that the pressure plate was 5 weeks out. They gave me an in stock clutch master pp that runs 675 for 531...(the cost of the competition with tax). managed to rig the garage for 220v so I can run the welding machine from work here. Unfortunately I still don't have that roller. Pretty slow progress.
jtmuncher
Finally got the roller home. In worse shape then I thought but manageable. Just need a few more things before I'm ready to drop motor in (fly wheel and r154 bell hsg).
jtmuncher
I believe the only things I can salvage from here are the seats... they are actually pretty comfortable...http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v440/leche1103/null_zpsd2b0f6cb.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v440/leche1103/null_zps7bcebb45.jpg
jtmuncher
Can someone please tell which of this wiring, relays etc...can be complete removed from the engine bay for this swap? As you can see, it needs quite a bit of cleaning. Thankshttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v440/leche1103/null_zps914e181c.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v440/leche1103/null_zps1adf9403.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v440/leche1103/null_zps5cf0570d.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v440/leche1103/null_zps914e181c.jpg
87quest_stv
I started my swap over a yr and a half ago. and kind of just let it sit for a while. but I do remember being able to completely remove the engine harness( except the starter wire) which ran on the passenger side of the car.. the driver side harness will still run your electronics inside the car. so be careful what you get rid of on the driver side harness Edited October 21, 2013 by 87quest_stv

19cturbo
All the relays in the main "box" stay, and the fusable links stay. the relays that are hanging low were for AC and alarm i believe, you can remove those if youd like. they were on the little black bracket that bolted to the inner fender. most off all that stays there though. on the other side of the car, the three relays there, the two up top are the factory relays for the fans, the one below them is the fog lights.. the factory engine harness can be removed, the only thing you need from that is the starter wire Edited October 22, 2013 by 19cturbo
jtmuncher
Thanks. I am in the process of removing that harness and stock ecu. The more I dig into it the more rust pops up. The under carriage looks ok so I am not too worried about it. I got the cams from a member over on supraforums.com. These particular cams came out of a 94 supra tt motor usdm...I am not sure what other motor these are in sorry. As for my swap, things have been moving slowly. Plan right now is to clean up the engine bay. Teaching myself how to bondo...getting rid of the unused brackets and holes on the passenger side for now. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v440/leche1103/null_zpsef1eb0ba.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v440/leche1103/null_zpsb55835db.jpg Edited October 22, 2013 by jtmuncher

I am sure I will have more questions. I believe I am over analyzing a lot of these things...as for those three relays on the passenger side, I am going to get rid of them. I am going to run an aftermarket fan controller. Thanks again.
