1320ft
Anyone using a Transbrake'd auto with a 6 bolt diff for Drag Racing? Do they stand up to shock of releasing the t/brake?
ucw458
Depends on your HP level but yes in general they hold up well. But you can break anything with enough effort.
Technology
There are aftermarket axles available that will hold up to stuff like that. With slicks, you will probably break stock stuff.

Funky Phil
rebuild your 6bolts. Stockers dont last long with the LSD. How much power you talking about?
Funky Phil
The only aftermarket axles are still in R&D phase. 3rd revision I believe so even those are breaking.
1320ft
rebuild your 6bolts. Stockers dont last long with the LSD. How much power you talking about? About 600hp. I'm planning on getting the shafts rebuilt with stronger cv's and getting the stubb axles cryo treated. I will have 26x8.5's on the rear.
Funky Phil
about 600? with a 4g63 they will prolly hold if healthy.

Yeah, My calcs workout the motor should make a touch over 600h/p at the flexplate and should comfortably run into the high nines. It's a 2.3l stroked VR4, with a GT3076R
blue_crush
then it won't be 600 by the time it hits the pavement. You should be fine with the stock axles. I would be conserned with the diff.
Funky Phil
you have nothing to fear with the diff. trust me
Funky Phil
aslong as you put some sort of preload on before getting on the Tbrake it should help the axles out. Otherwise save up some $$$$ for some DSS units. why only a 3076?
1320ft
why only a 3076? I was going to go a larger Precision unit, but I had this lying around and the local turbo shops said that is a good size for my motor and will have it smack bang in the middle of it's efficiency range. By aussie street car 4G63 terms, it's a big unit.
