Well my friend Keiff has been nagging me for about 4-5 weeks now about attending the ZCCR (Z Car Club of Rochester) yearly Hot Import DayZ show with my Starion. He promised me I'd be the only Starion in attendance. So this morning at 7am I rolled out and headed up to Webster, NY to the Elk's Lodge where the show was going on. I had no idea the Rochester/Niagara Region had so many beautiful AND significant Z cars in reach. The VERY FIRST 240Z EVER to roll off the assembly line for US Market was there, which was super cool to see....along with REAL LEGIT 240z Race Cars since birth, a Datsun 2000 Convertible, and a whole slew of other S30 (240,260,280), S130 (280) cars and a few Z31's and Z32's. Of course the newer Z's were there too but they're too boring so I didn't spend much time looking at those.

I'll start with this one. The car that started EVERYTHING. This very car in particular is the very first 240Z EVER BUILT for Public Sale....destined for US Market, and here she is today. Lucky #00013. It is said the first 12 cars were crash test cars and press release/demo cars.

Following, would be the 240z Race Cars. The real deal here. Race Cars since birth, never been titled for street use.

Very cool show, use to run a custmized 78' 280Z, probably the best car combination between handling, gas milage, power & comfort... loved it! Sold it to get back into my vettes 71' 454 roadster t-tops, removable rear window alot of fun!!! But the Z was too trick/too kool, really liked it, "Slick!" Would have liked to pick up a 280 scarab Z 350 transplant., never did though, they were having trouble stopp'n them? Very cool show Justin

Oh, I forgot to mention....while mingling around, something caught my eye on the spectator parking lot and I became very curious, very quickly.

A beautiful condition '87 Chrysler Conquest TSi. Nobody was around the car, but I determined the car was in beautiful original condition, and was very straight. As I wandered back over to my car, I found an older gentlemen looking at mine. He asked me if it was mine and I said yes...and he told me he has one (the one above). I asked him if he was the original owner, and he said yes. He was curious where I got my louvers and was wondering where he could find some for his. I told him all about StarQuestClub.com (he's never heard of it) and I said once in a blue moon, a set will pop up for sale...but they are rare and it may take time to find some.

I kick myself in the butt for not asking him for his name/number...or at least giving him mine. Oh well. He may be popping on here soon. I can only hope.

Wow!! I wish I would have known about this some way. I'm in Rochester right now for a 2 week training and I drove aimlessly through Webster today!! This would have a been really cool thing to swing by .. plus I could have met you Coke. Edited by techboy

Anyone say, "that's an od looking Z!"

When I was pulling in behind my friend Keiff in his Z31....the lot workers were directing us where to go. The Z's were on one side of the lawn, the 'others' were on the other side. As I approached the man, he was going to put me with the Z's until he looked closer and saw my Diamond Star on the header panel, in which he changed his mind and pointed me in the other direction. We both chuckled because knew what had just happened.

Unfortunately that means nothing to me since I'm not from the area, but I was on 104 driving today and I saw signs for Webster, got off, drove around a little and then headed back to the hotel. I'm in Herrietta right now, just off 390, not far from the RIT campus.

I'm here until Friday. Training goes until 5 everyday and then we usually get food somewhere out for dinner. I'll shoot you a PM since a conversation like this is better taken there.
