tux
Noticed my rail won't fit on the manifold and clear the last nipple http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p77/opticledilusi0n/th_IMG_20120621_092318.jpg In case someone has a similar problem, I'll update this thread. I think I found something that will work. I'll find out in a couple of days. NotStock88
Look for my old post on this. I had the same issue here - I sold it. Other people had issues with the bore of the rail and not getting orings to seal.
19cturbo
My cutout was in the wrong place as well, but it still worked once i actually bolted it down everything fit fine, but i had different injectors.. best picture i have right now, ill try to get a better one later. http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd23/19cturbo/MPI%20project/IMG_20110228_205820.jpg Edited June 22, 2012 by 19cturbo
NotStock88
seems that depending on how the magna was modified will determine weather or not it will fit properly
tux
I suspect that it may fit once I install some hats on my injectors. I'm using OEM SRT-4 Stage-2 Injectors. I believe they are about 44mm from O-Ring to O-ring. The hat should extend it by 11mm and hopefully clear it.
19cturbo
im using delphi injectors, they seem to be a little longer than what yours are
jszucs
my cut out was just short of where it needed to be. I just extended the cutout.
tux
I think my injectors are too short for extending the cutout area, it's be encroaching on the fourth injector.I should have these hats in a day or two, so I'll find out.
tux
just got them, they seem to fit perfect and make the rail extend past that vacuum nipple. I'll post pics later
tux
fitment from top appears ok http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p77/opticledilusi0n/IMG_20120628_222959.jpg from the side, it looks possibly poor at best. can't seem to get the o-rings seated in the manifold w/ the rail bolted down. http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p77/opticledilusi0n/IMG_20120628_223015.jpg
tux
I'm gonna try to keep monkeying with it, but i feel I may probably have to commission a slightly higher quality rail.
tux
for my own info from C hadMagna = 14 mm O-ring AKA common domestic injectors DSM = 11 mm O-ring AKA common import. Edited June 29, 2012 by tux
tux
I finally got them seated w/ the fuel rail on. Took some convincing, used a plastic pen cap dipped in plastidip to kind of push the injectors down into the bungs, then had to cut slits along the brackets that came with the rail so I could bolt it down to the manifold. I'm not sure its completely a matter of the rail being designed for longer injectors like I was told by trilogy... as now my injectors are the same length as the Delphi's that were recommend and it still took quite a bit of work. The cut out now barely clears that last nipple on the 4th cylinder. I'm going to try and find a 90 degree nipple to put there. I do feel that this rail is not exactly the best investment and I should have given up and tossed the magna rail back on. But it looks like it'll work now.. way more hours invested that I would have liked. Edited June 30, 2012 by tux
19cturbo
now when i put mine on, the brackets that bolted to the fuel rail, i had to leave them a little loose on the rail, and push the rail back towards the fire wall, then tighten the bolts holding the bracket to the rail, they sit kinda crooked but it works fine. tux
I just cut channels/slots instead of using the screw holes. In all honesty, this rail was a waste of money. Here's the pics I said I'd post when it was pretty much all done http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p77/opticledilusi0n/IMG_20120630_193300.jpg Here you can see, it still doesn't safely clear the nipple. With how much of a pain it was to get on... I may try and find a nipple that is a 90. http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p77/opticledilusi0n/IMG_20120630_193322.jpg
creakyjoints
Looks to me it was cut to clear the nipple for the water not for the vacuum. My magna doesnt have a vacuum fitting there.
tux
It seems it wasn't designed to clear either. Before i put the injector hats on and had the second nipple off it didn't clear either. Looks like it will work now, but it took more work than it was worth. Shouldn't have strayed from the original rail.
jszucs
well you do realize that all of these manifolds were adapted by hand, and many revisions both in the manifold and the way they were modded were made along the way. Some have EGR's some don't some got the port in the runner some didn't ect. You do not have a cookie cutter honda here. Don't let this discurage you to much, there will more then likely be bigger hurdles along the way to overcome depending on how far you are going to take it. As far as not straying from your origional rail well you realize you would of had to have modified your rail to right? tux
My original rail didn't require any modification. *aside from the FPR Edited July 5, 2012 by tux
