sammi_curr72
Been kicking around the idea of HID conversion.. my question is, will the stock lenses work, or do they make a more clear aftermarket lens/housing??
jmmy
they proper and only way you should do it is to do a projector retrofit into some clear housings
Skullzaflare
Been kicking around the idea of HID conversion.. my question is, will the stock lenses work, or do they make a more clear aftermarket lens/housing??no matter what you would have to get aftermarket lenses as the stocks are sealed bulbs as jmmy said, better off to do a projector retrofit

D_Venable
projector retrofit is the best way to do it, unless your an tail, and don't care about others on the road being able to see

Boosted77.
Get these. Cut/Paste item # into Ebay's browser as their links have not worked for a couple months now. Housings 320633706568 HID kit 280529648079 The HID kit has a true lifetime warranty on ballasts and bulbs. Not a bad deal really. Edited December 27, 2010 by Boosted77. sammi_curr72
awesome links.. thanks! what size bulb would i need to use, though? i would want the 6000k bulbs, but don't what the conversion size would be after converting my lenses to the first link you provided... EDIT.. nevermind.. the power of actually reading the auction page. they use H4 bulbs.. until i contradict myself again.. heh EDIT AGAIN... these looked pretty awesome.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/7-x5-SQUARE-SEALED-BEAM-HALO-HEADLIGHTS-CONVERSION-KIT-/190482909895?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model:Conquest|Submodel:TSi&hash=item2c59aa8ac7#ht_4546wt_1167 Edited December 27, 2010 by sammi_curr72
Komeuppance
Those are two pieces of the puzzle, you need a projector to properly harness the light output of the HID bulb. Just putting an HID bulb in a reflector housing is not good enough, besides the glare, the light will be scattered all over and you will not be able to see as well even though the light is brighter. -Robert
DryBear
For another option on HID bulb kits, try DDM Tuning at http://www.ddmtuning.com/ Their HID bulb kits run at $35, and the ballasts are nice and thin+small. I'm running the HID kit for my fogs and even without a proper projector and Burton's light tint covers, the output is pretty bright. I plan to retrofit in some real projectors to get the best output.
