I had the engine shop do a few more things to the block and head before i pick it up next week. So on my down time I decided to paint my wheels. Im a huge fan of black rims, but i thought i would do something a little different. socjdqcer Posted November 16, 2010 Author Report Share Posted November 16, 2010 (edited) well I know this isnt a huge update, but never the less here it is...I got the block, pistons and rods, bearing ect... back yesterday from the shop...and it looks great! Im disassembling the head today to take it to the shop too. One of the last things I need is a intercooler. I can modify and install it myself, I just need to know what size to get. I just got my new oil/water pumps and my ARP Head STuds and ARP Rod Studs/Bolts. Im just waiting for the Head to get back from the shop its wetting dipped. I also just purchased a parts car that Ill use the head light assemblys, motor mounts, 5speed tranny out of, and it will have all of the clutch lines ect... it will be nice to have it in my back yard instead of going to the junk yard! I still need to purchase a intercooler & piping, turbo manifold, and oil cooler. Hopefully everything will be done by this weekend, so I can put the motor back together. Ill keep you all posted! Finally got the Head back this week. The ended up re-surfacing the head and doing a valve job. I didnt want to spend the extra $, but its done, and i know Ill be happy with it in the long run. So While I have been waiting i cleaned and painted the new Valve cover and Cam gears. The valve cover was so disgusting that it took a few hours to clean, but with the help of a tooth brush and some "Purple Power" I highly recommend this stuff) i got it like brand new!I was going to go with Gloss black with red lettering, but decided to change at the last minute to Satin/ Wrinkle black with gold lettering. Let me know how you think it turned out. I sending the intake manifold to Bill right now so he can reverse it, and I just purchased a Tubular exhaust header for my T3T4 turbo and im going to flip that as well, so the turbo sits on top. The Motor is assembled!!!!! The Head was a pain in the butt to assemble (all the valves and everything else) but I got it done last night, and this morning i took a few hours to put it all together!
