polarisman14
Here's the update I have been waiting for. Walt wants me to take the car back and get the car in running, inspectable shape before he does the final paint job so that I don't damage the paint while working on it. I'll try to arrange going to pick it up at the end of next week or something. polarisman14
Got some more work done on the car today. The wheel spacers are installed, clutch has been bled, and the fuel leak is fixed. Unfortunately the driver's side seatbelt decided to randomly stop working and it's caught in the back position...Annoying. Will fix that in the future. Realistically, the car needs to be about an inch lower in the front, half-inch lower in the rear, and have about a half-inch more spacer in the rear for it to be perfect. The coilovers are already maxed out and there's no other way to lower it more safely. I'm more concerned about how it goes than how it looks so I'll be getting some 5mm spacers out back and we'll call it good. The 3d front pic is with 5mm of washers on the wheel so that'll be what it looks like with the spacers. On to the pics: http://i512.photobucket.com/albums/t324/polarisman14/StarQuest/0617110930.jpg http://i512.photobucket.com/albums/t324/polarisman14/StarQuest/0617111038.jpg
polarisman14
Made some hubcentric spacers for my wheel+spacer combination. Came out pretty well. http://i512.photobucket.com/albums/t324/polarisman14/OttoWerks/StarionHubcentricSpacers.jpg

polarisman14
I need to verify that mine will work first before I am comfortable selling them to anyone. Once I do that I would be glad to make you a set.
polarisman14
Update for those of you who aren't in the MPI sub-forum often. The car runs finally after several equipment trips back and fourth between Scott and I. There were some internal issues with the processor that didn't make troubleshooting on my end easy but we figured it out. Before winter the car was idling buttery smooth and it's getting paint and body work done now. Once I get it back I only have a few things for the car to pass inspection: replace LR brake caliper (frozen), verify proper operation of e-brake (should work once caliper is replaced), replace both inner and outer front wheel bearings, get the fog lights to work, and make sure all the other lights work as intended. I also gotta remove the washers I put in the rear as spacers (just for wheel sizing) before I drive it around. I would also like to get the interior lights (dome and map) to work as they randomly stopped working and fix the radio...That worked but I may have blown a fuse or something along the way. I'll also likely hire Scott to make me a fresh harness and I'll do the final mounting of the computer, MSD box, and all other peripherals once I get the new harness and stuff.
