1985 Australian starion 4G63 fuel injector question...

I swear (well not really, I don't want this deleted) but every time I try to make a simple GP I always get people from all over the world asking me questions I just can't quite answer.

Ok, here the question and the first one with the correct answer gets free shipping on their set of injectors ;)

Is an 85 Australian 4G63 powered Starion fuel injector the same as our 85 Starion fuel injector?

I think the 4G63 is a 2.0 liter so I was thinking it might be a smaller cc injector but I'm not sure. I'm also not sure what the intake and injector setup looks like. Ok, any input would be greatly appreciated so I can help out Australian brother.

I tried to register on Austarion but the page kept telling me my email address was banned... What the crap??? I tried three different e-mail addresses and it kept saying they were all banned... Its a damn conspiracy I tell you!!! I'm being black balled over there... Well, I doubt it but it sounded good anyway :) I sent an e-mail but they haven't got back with me yet, probably still sleeping... I'll try the other site as well. Thanks again BB

The TB and fuel rail look just like ours, they use the same size, physically, injectors we have.

As far as flow, from what one of the top Aussie(most Northern, haha) guys said, they are 850cc's if they are "type 2 injection".

Ask him what are the letter/number code on his stock injectors. They would use the same codes as we do here. If it's an H or J, it's 850cc's.

Dont know if you have found the answer yet, found this thread doing a search, the Aussie 85 model injectors are the same as 86/87 injectors.

My brother has an 85 we are putting new injectors in eventually and according to others (redzone can confirm) people have bought new 87 style injectors from USA to put in 85 model Starions in Australia.

Just to clarify, in the US:

86 injectors are both 850cc's

87 injectors primary 580cc, secondary 1080cc's.

87 injectors are the same as 88/89 arnt they.

The 85 model in Aus (referred to the model code JB Starion) needs the 2 x 850cc injectors.

Redzone will be able to clear all of this up as he has dealed with this before if i recall right.

My opinion is bin it all and go MPI :P

Yep. But you said "86/87 injectors". Which are definitely not the same.

I just want to thank you all for the help with this info, its much appreciated. I e-mailed the guy back and haven't heard from him yet but I have a set of 850's here ready to go if he wants them. If anyone else need some replacement injectors I have several different sizes of new Delphis at a pretty good price and they all come with o-rings and stainless bolts.

ok i'm here! hahaha.

i must have been led up the garden path with the 87 year reference, they're definitely the 86 type then as they're 850cc's in a JB starion.

the injection mixer is identical to a 2.6 starion..
