on4now4
so i may be able to get some custom tires engineered specifically to our cars by one of the big tire companies Toyo Pirelli etc. but before i really get into it i will need to know what people want. i was thinking something like stock sizes 225 and 205 50 and 55 so that they will fit most peoples rims and more of a track tire semi slicks something you can still use on the road but very grippe for the track. let me know your opinion and i will get this started. MikeMeyerhoff
What we are really lacking of is good tires for the rear 9s. 265/45/16 265/40/16 275/40/16 The new Kumho Ecsta 265/45 is the best option, but its more a summer tire. A 265/45 all season tire might sell decent. mm
LEPORE
275/40/16 would be sweet..
jszucs
Yeah little "stock" sizes are avalable in almost anything you want. It's hard to find wide tires for 16" rims. Most tire manufactures I know perelli for sure has quit making anything wider then a 225 for 16" rims. You have to go to 17" or larger to get your choice of sizes. jszucs
Sorry wasn't trying to crush this I just wanted to make sure we focused on what we need that is not already avalable.
PDX87Starion
Sorry to be a buzzkill... but reality says that no tire company is going to run a few sets of custom one-off tires for a reasonable price. I just dont think this could be a possibility...sorry. But I wont feel bad if you prove me wrong.
black86tsi
has anyone checked with Hoosier tires they make a large assortment of tires from racing to dot road race radials just looking through my Smileys racing book and found this (Dot road racing radials 275/45ZR16)only problem is $$$$244.00$$$ each
Dan
I'd like to see a re-creation of the OEM rim in 17" or 18" flavor... that would resolve the lack of tire choices for our cars. I think 101Propose had a CAD drawing posted somewhere on this site.

jszucs
17 or 18 and wider 8" or 9" for the front whatever fits best and allows for aggresive suspension and definalty like a 9"-12" out back with a deeper lips would be hot. Depending on price and especialy keeping the weight down, you have my intrest.

BrazilBoy
^ You want to go from a single stager to a double stager? It's not a min truck I had a 944 with 17x8 front and 18x10 rear and it looked perfect...Most Ferraris, Lambos and Porsches are step staggered...Its a Euro thing...I am trying to keep my starquest rice free if I can... on4now4
alright well i will try and see how much it will cost to get them done and im thinking it would be a good idea to redesign the spokes so that they still look almost the same but have some way of sucking air into the breaks to cool them
