89PalermoSHP
Got my addcos today and boy are they nice and sturdy. Ive condensed all of my posts to this one so you dont have to read through everything. They front brackets they come with are junk so I got a set of Energy Suspension 9.5129G 25mm/1" universal swaybar mounts. I then machined a spacer out of steel to back it up. The rears use the existing mount and they provide new poly bushings. Heres what comes with the 2 bars. The open stuff is for the front and the bagged is the rear: http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w202/89PalermoSHP/addco1.jpg Heres a comparison of the addco on top and stocker on the bottom. The thing is a monster. http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w202/89PalermoSHP/addco2.jpg Here are some pics of the brackets provided with the Addco kit. Looks a bit flimsy http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emthdown.gif http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w202/89PalermoSHP/addco3.jpg http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w202/89PalermoSHP/addco4.jpg http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w202/89PalermoSHP/addco5.jpg http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w202/89PalermoSHP/addco6.jpg Here are the spacers I machined. I have not tried to fit them yet but hoping for the best. I am going to paint them as well. http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w202/89PalermoSHP/sbb1.jpg http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w202/89PalermoSHP/sbb2.jpg http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w202/89PalermoSHP/sbb3.jpg Edited October 4, 2008 by 89PalermoSHP

JamesR
Got my addcos today and boy are they nice and sturdy. My question is for anyone who have installed them... The fronts come with a bracket and a flat plate with 2 holes and 2 spacers. First I notice the holes in the bracket and the holes in the plates dont match up. Since we cant mount the bar flush to the body, are those spacers meant to replace the oem mount? Im hoping the new bushing will fit in the oem mount. I guess Ill find out tomorrow. Did it come with directions?

Technology
How bad is the misalignment of the holes? Is it something where you can squeeze it together to make it work? Oh, and pics!

GCNTSi
I tried bending the bushing bracket to match the holes up with the plate but then the bar/bushing wont fit so I am going to oblong the holes w/ a dremel. I don't think you should try to make the holes any larger, you want them as tight as possible to keep any shifting to a minimum. The whole point of the upgrade is to tighten up any looseness between the wheels. If you can keep your patience and continue trying different angles, and try raising and lowering the wheels separately, you should be able to get it lined up and together, eventually. -GCNTSi. Minagera
The front is a must on this, but I do have to say after driving the quest with a stiffer rear bar, the rear likes to jump out more now...

I think your misunderstanding the situation... they wont mount period and if it was in front of you, you would see. The holes are oblong as it is so a little more oblong wont make a bit of difference. The quality control is obviously lacking on these components. The bar itself seems to fit just right. Technology
How about using the stock mounting pieces? Do the new rubber bushings fit in them?
Casey_L
This is what you need. http://www.energysuspension.com/media2/GreSwayBB.jpg http://www.energysuspension.com/pages/swaybbct.html Then get a 1/2 inch aluminum bar stock and drill two holes in it to space the sway bar into the factory location. JamesR
All done but the test drive... Here what I figured out for the front(the rears should be easier because you use the stock mounts and they provide some poly bushings that look mighty close to the stockers, Ill verify and update this) Brackets: Good, they are nice heavy steel and fit the bushing well. New bolts are supplied that are correct threading although the heads fit a 1/2" socket better than a metric?? Although I never tried 13mm... Bad, with the holes lined up as best they can, the outside perimeters of the bracket and plate do not line up even close. This is not the the end of the world but the fact that the holes need to be oblonged for the bracket to be even useable. The holes on the plate have the correct spacing but again, they arent centered on the plate. Bushings: Fit awesome, grease is supplied Bar: Very solid and heavy, powdercoated black Endlinks: Nice bushings(i assume poly). They are molded to fit the bar well and they also have been molded to fit the washer nicely. http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w202/89PalermoSHP/addco3.jpg http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w202/89PalermoSHP/addco4.jpg http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w202/89PalermoSHP/addco5.jpg http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w202/89PalermoSHP/addco6.jpg The brackets don't seem to fit quite right. I would buy some energy suspension brackets and replace those.
Technology
In his post, Casey said make a 1/2" thick spacer, which would provide the backing for the bushing you are talking about.
JamesR
You need something to back the bushing up, those are made to mount againt the body. But the more I think about it... I like how sharp the bend is where the tabs come out. That is one of the problems with the addco one, the radius is too big. The bottom backer plate really wouldnt be all that difficult. I migh make a solid base at work and use the energy one in the pic. Yea, the radius is big, the bolt doesn't sit flush with the bracket and even looks like its crooked and the round spacers is not a great setup. The addco bracket setup probably flexes during hard corning.
