jimalan1989
So i have searched and had no luck finding the answer to my question so i figured i would ask. I have an 86 and bought a *DM hard pipe kit and the kit does not have a place for the sensor located on the factory pipe right before the throttle body and was wondering what you guys do with the sensor? any help would be great! JohnnyWadd
Those kits where made to the 87 and up that did not have the sensor in the ovcp. You can get the bung for it welded on to the pipe.

jimalan1989
so the thread size for the sensor is 12mmx1.5 and I cant seem to find an aluminum bung anywhere so it looks like i may have to find a standard aluminum bung and drill and tap it to that size. unless anyone know where i can find that size
JohnnyWadd
http://www.verocious...rts?search=bung I thought fragola made one but I don't see one there. I say people jb welded the OEM bung onto the hardpipe. Might not be a favorable option....Or go to a online hardware store that sells aluminum nuts and bolts and find an aluminum nut that size. importwarrior
i believe any good muffler shop would have the bung or try advance or autozone. Edited May 22, 2013 by importwarrior
jimalan1989
not really feeling the jb weld thing the car is in pretty good shape and I would like to keep everything as clean as possible so even if it takes me some extra time and change ill get something welded in that looks pretty decent. its not my DD so I'm not in a huge hurry. there are a couple local machine shops I may hit up to see what they can do
jimalan1989
good news, after hours of searching for an aluminum 12x1.5 nut or bung with no luck I managed to find a piece of aluminum I could use to make a bung/nut. I found what looked to be an Old low side a/c fitting with a female end on it to thread to the line in the scrap aluminum bin at work. I cut the end of it off and drilled and tapped it to the right thread size. it now just looks like a plain hex nut. I test fitted the sensor to verify it threads in good. now all that's left is to take it get welded into the hard pipe

Caliber308
Glad you got it figured out. More members need to learn how to "improvise" when doing modifications on these cars. Bill
