3/4 closed headlight trick.

Recommended Posts

now i have noticed how cool these cars look with there headlight not completely shut only 3/4 the way shut like alot of pure drifters have done to there car. now im not sure if this will work or not but here it goes.... would it be possible to simply "trick" the headlight motors by shutting the lights and then dig in behind them, un mount them from the motor and raise them about an inch and then holding the headlight bucket and reattach them to the headlight motors . now do u guys think this is possible ? or is the headlight permanently mounted to the motors? id like to this mod but id like opinions before i do it

Good question. I like the way it looks but I would like to have a way to have them CLOSED all the way too. Just hit a button and they pop up a tad then hit it again or hit another button to turn them all the way on.

What a hater. 3 negative comments out of 11 posts in a thread where a guy is asking about a possible way to do it, not asking for opinions.

You'd think he was asking if he could do the trick to YOUR car, not his own.

manually crank the headlights up to that point, just don't hit the headlight switch or they'll return to their normal position. But, its works...just never drive in a situation you have to turn the headlights on, and they'll stay like that forever...lol

Actually, they won't, I've tried that, it senses it's not down (or up) and spins it back into the position it's suppose to be in.

That is if it's all in properly working order.

To pull what your describing off, you'd have to unplug the pop-up motor, which to me, is a dumb idea.

If your gonna go for the sleepy eye look, buy a proper controller like linked above to do it

might just be because my old headlight switch was flaky. Haven't tried it since I put one that works correctly in there now. Maybe thats why it did that.

  • 2 weeks later...

You could do that if you headlight switch was dirty. Before I cleaned mine I had to press the headlight on button half way to get them to close. If I didn't hold it until they closed they would stop where ever I left off.

that's how mine works, i was wondering what was causing it. not that i mind its kind of cool that i can put them wherever i want
