OEM diverter vs BOV

Newb question here. I'm installing a starion motor into a Montero, going with mostly a stock setup. Early in the parts buying, I bought a TEP OVC hard pipe with Turbo XS BOV. I read now that this will screw up my A/F ratios for street use and that I'd be better off with the stock diverter valve to route the air. What should I use? I'm starting from scratch with no donor car for reference.
