Its a shortblock a member here built years ago and then had a head gasket fail.

I got the engine with the car.

I though he said hypereutectic but im not sure.

Any thoughts? they all have a 1.00 mm stamp on the top. I will try to get a pic of the skirts soon.

Thanks for any info guys.

Not bored to .040

maybe .010-.020

I can fit one of my oem pistons in the bore but it is sloppy.

Out of spec. for a oem piston for sure.

Anyways it does look good in there.

And I found some numbers either 1113p or p3111

yes, im in no way calling anyone a lier.

i read this out of my service manual also.

.25mm = .010in. oversized

.50 = .020

.75 = .030

1.00 = .039

stock piston size 91.1mm 3.5866in.

wiesco pistons specs i pulled from ebay listings.031 over with a bore of 92mm 3.622

.051 over bore size 92.5mm 3.642in.

or dads site

oversize

.020 =size 3.607

.030 = 3.617

.040 = 3.627

I am just saying I have had a machinest mill the top of a piston before and stamp how much he milled off for compression ratio.

This could be what has been done here.

If I had a 3.63 bore insteed of the oem 3.58 I think i could tell even with my eye's.

I have 3 short blocks in my garage right now.

They are all looking the same bore size including this engine.

I wasn't as conserned with the size of the bore as to what kind of pistons these are. So does anyone think they know that?

FYI- 3.622- 3.5866= .0354 os not .031

3.642-3.5866 = .0554 os. not .051

VVVVV

like I said, l took that right from the (ebay) listing for wiesco piston, if you were to buy them from ebay.

They want the cylinder bore this size for their oversized pistons.

I did not make this number up myself.

If i were to machine my own hole I'd buy a piston first and measure it!

I am totaly over this bore size arguements.

I will measure all 3 blocks.

lol, everyday is an adventure right?

but in all seriousness, they do look like a set of hyperu's i killed lol, same with the little casting circle in the center

I figured someone may spy something familiar.

There are 3 casting circles the larger circle is in the center of the piston.

Can you maybe direct me to a website or something.

I would like to read about these.

Relax my friend I can gaurantee you the ebay listing is wrong. I have fit the 92 and 92.5 pistons in the blocks before. they are 035 and 055, No need to get upset, it helps other people to know in case they are going to get those pistons.

Now, getting back to your pistons, they appear to have a steel reinforcement in the underside. That pretty much tells me that they are a cast piston, also your 1.0mm on the top appears to me to be cast into the piston, not stamped, so again I believe that these are 040 oversize cast pistons.

Don't get pissy if I'm wrong, it's only my opinion.

sorry if i type like im pissy.

I am totaly not...lol I just don't get how off track some post can get.

I copy and pasted some numbers and if there wrong then thats ebay for ya...lol

i know these may appear to be .040 to you by the casting 1.00mm

But I know this is not a bore of .040 so why do I have to keep saying this.

I once had a piston stamped/casted 1.25 on the top and it turned out to be turned down for compression not a bore cast.

This all seems messed up but thats how we get to the correct answer.

I'm not just gonna assume anything by a number on the top of a piston as we can see even a ebay listing can be wrong.

I'll get the correct cylinder bore size later.

i'm not getting any specs or anything from these numbers though.

just that ertel makes a oem like piston.

Because it's obsolete, you need to find an old catalog with that piston. silvolite, ohio piston or badger pistons.

ok, I'm not worthy of my own post now.

I actually took a rough measurment of all 3.

Then got even more confused.

I was under the impression that 2 of my short blocks were oem.

Thats why I refrenced a visual.

So..... its hard to be told your wrong after looking at so many engines all these years. I can tell when ones bigger than the other.

I do apologize to you DAD I Have been too busy to slow down and take a better look.

The answer is.......i do not have a oem shortblock.

after looking closely to these other short blocks they have .75 on the top of the pistons and I never thought to scrub them down and look because they look oem.

here's a pic you can barely see it but its there .75

so I have 2 .030 over blocks

and 1- .040 over block

thanks for the tip DAD I feel like an assss now for sure man!!!

It's all good, I found out early in life, Micrometers don't lie. If that o40 block needs bored you could go wiseco 92.5mm pistons ( .055)
