Help!!! My light won't flip up.. What's wrong?   Signed   Blind as a Bat

I'm looking at the GM alternators and found a 160 amp 1 wire. I've got a pigtail for a 3 wire and know how to wire it...what I need to know is what does the little wire out of the 2 prong plug on the stock alternator go to? Do I need it? Or should I just stick with the 3 wire 100 amp alternator?
