Stuck Accelerator....I just don't get it

Ok I just don't get this. I have never been in something you can't shut it off, or at a bare minimum (assuming like push button start ECT) get it in neutral. So this weekend I ended up going to the All mitsu cookout up in MN and Andrew got this hair brained idea in my head about running E85 in my flatty. I did some searching on here to see if any discussions had been started about this topic but it doesn't seem like search is finding them.
