When I purchased my 1988 TSi, the previous owner already installed a remanufactured motor by a company named Recon. After six years of daily use, I finally blew the headgasket and the motor seized from sitting still. I would like to know which is a better ..... rebuild this motor which worked great before the blown headgasket or just get another Reman motor.   Thanks, Brando

Can I replace the two prong sensor for the dash temp guage 88-89 with a single prong and still have the dash gauge work by using the yellow/blue wire only? I dont want to spend $90 bucks for a stupid two prong sensor.
