I'm interested in making a part for my car, I intended to make just one for myself but hey, if it works out, functional and cool looking, I would make more. What I need, what do I make the original piece out of? Does the original piece have to be hollow? When I make the mold, what material should I use?   I'm sure I'll have more questions after I here your responses, so please bear with me.

I have owned my starion since early 07, yesterday I was t-bone right into the driver side door and smashed it all up. The person that hit me just left so it was a hit and run. The engine still runs but the whole driver side is destroyed. I don't know if I should sell it as a donor car, part it out, or buy a shell and start over....
