Brake Mods for sure

I just got a set of front pads for my 83 (4 lug tiny itty bitty rotors) and there is no way i can compress the caliper any more but it will not go over the pads. The rotor is pretty new looking and on the high end of the usable spec. I found another topic where it was mentioned just wondering why I have to take my brake pads to a belt sander to make them fit. Especially since I think they are organic pads... Asbestos. Pads say Duralast Gold on the back of them. f*cking autozone... to the
Vaccuum pump/line question

I noticed on the vacuum line setup that there are two check valves in the passenger corner. One separates the engine rom the cruise and vacuum pump. The other separates the engine from the vacuum canister and the interior HVAC controls. Thus is it true that the vacuum pump is only for the cruise control? If so then that means that the vacuum canister is only there to hold additional vacuum for the HVAC controls? So what happens if you are in boost for a long period of time, would the HVAC
Battery Gauge Needle Moves With Turn Signal

Ok, when I put my turn signals on, the dashboard battery gauge needle slightly moves up/down along with the rythm of the blinkers. What causes this? Dirty/bad grounds? I also noticed that when I put my headlights on, I hear a slight screeching noise coming from the engine bay. I did notice that the alternator belt is worn/loose, so I'll be replacing that soon....
Dashboard Clock Mount

LIke it says need the plastic mount/attachment piece for the clock in the dash. Just one of those things that explodes pulling out the dash when you miss a connector... Thanks Dave
