Which way do I go 1g translator or 2g and what are the steps to hooking it up?

Another BIG problem...I have a 87 conquest -I just swaped the engine harness from an 88 now the problem it has, one plug from the 88 is different from the 87. I checked the manual and I didnt find any info about that plug. That plug runs under the dash so anyone that has swaped an 88 harness to a 87 can explain to me how to connect it.
