Foam or Gauze type air filter, what is better?

    CaliConquestAlex
    By CaliConquestAlex,
The cheapo spectre air filter that is connected directly to my turbo compressor housing is melting from the heat. I've decided that I need to run a 3" AHP pipe from the turbo toward the passenger fender with a 3" filter, similar to the Stock setup.     The question is, do I get a K&N gauze type cone filter, or do I get a foam "mushroom" filter? I believe I have space for either.   http://thumbs3.ebaystatic.com/d/l225/m/m33pi0ddsEH__KP4JSTlcBw.jpg   or   http://thumbs2.ebaystatic.com/d/l225/m
