TEP downpipe fitment to stock exhaust?

I just finished a ton of repair/tune up work and the last thing was to install the TEP downpipe. It's a catless 2.5". It didn't meet up wheel with the stock midpipe... but I had enough play in the exhaust hangers to pull it in. It was too dark to see if it seals and I can't start the car until i get some more coolant, but does anyone else have a TEP downpipe mated to the factory exhaust? The connection on the factory side seems to have a half-donut sticking out of it. I think that is to

Just had this 87 pulled completely apart dash, engine etc. and I'm finally getting to firing it up but the fuel pump isn't priming while cranking but does run when using the test port. I'm not getting spark from the coil and the tach isn't jumping while cranking but I am getting small voltage jumps from the igniter when cranking. I am getting voltage on both sides of the coil and it ohms out right. So I went to test the red wire on the knock box and I'm not getting any power, tested the red
