What spring rates is everyone running?

By AustinTSI,
I'm putting in my Ground Control coil overs and I'm concerned about the sping rates. The front are 380# and the rear are 250#. Both are the 8" springs. I'm thinking about trading them in and getting 500# for the front and 300# for the rear but also getting the 6" ones so that I have more play with raising and lowering. The sleeves don't seem to let you drop the car that much. By the way, I'm building the car for the 400HP mark.
What does everyone think?
Thanx, Dave.
Check if your frame is cracked.

By AustinTSI,
I've posted this a long time ago but I thought I would include a pic this time.
On two of the five S/C's that I've owned I've found that the frame was cracked near the tie rod bracket. I now weld these stress points as a matter of course as they appear to be weak points to me. Here is a pic with the weld point in red. I haven't done this car yet but I will.

The perfect bushing for coil over and camber plate

By AustinTSI,
I went to the local AutoZone and found some tie rod dust boots from Energy Suspension that I think will work perfect.

I know the pic is crappy but I had to use a web cam as my camera is with the wife right now. The pic should be all that is needed.
Dave.
