I would like to separate the two parts so I can convert them to led's has anyone separated them before?

hey im just wondering if anyone on this site goes the lima ohio swap meet at the fair grounds cause it would be nice to go there and buy some parts for starquest's i may bring some parts down next time it happens,anyone?i also know people around here that have these cars without computers and never even hear of this site so they could be there too!!!
