Anyone know if the back section of the 88-89 can be bolted to the 87 bottom?

twisted main wire that goes to bottom of relay terminal to batt + ... White wire and white w/black stripe wire ...can I solder them to together or do need to crimp back together ??? I see that factory has crimped together ...maybe to much heat for solder??

Has anyone replaced the Fusible Link box with something else more modern? I want to get rid of the old crap completely.
