  2. No flaming involved but I think the 2jz may be a little overkill and certainly beyond my expertise and budget.
  3. Not big on red, actually its at the bottom of the list for colors. Thank you for the heads up. This one seems like it might be worth looking at... http://prescott.craigslist.org/cto/3958188555.html
  4. I always felt having one regardless of where is better than not having one at all.
  5. Thanks Shelby, thats some great info. The hybrid does sound attractive but Im not convinced with another auto. If I could rebuild them I may think different...
  6. The narrow 63 sounded like the most solid option to me. DOHC over SOHC and a complete engine assembled as designed makes the most sense. Any leads on a nice truck? Ive been scouring CL in the southern states but everyone must think Im a scammer since Im out of state lol. Im planning a little something for someone who can find a facilitate an out of state sale. If your in need of a new underhood insulator blanket, keep your eyes peeled! This one looks tempting lol http://hickory.craig...3942685539.html
  7. I dont want to get ahead of myself but with all of the work involved Id rather be alot closer to 300 than 200.
  8. Would you, (all of these choices would be turbo, of course) 1. Get one with a g54b and do the SOHC swap? 2. Get one with the wideblock and do the hybrid DOHC? 3. Get any of them and swap a complete narrow 4G63 and go with a Bill Hincher bellhousing? Im going crazy not having a project and have been on the hunt for a nice, rust-free Mighty Max. I want something fun and quick, say high 200's hp/tq max and the good things being a homeowner and having a pickup bring. The only "must" is it needs to have power steering if that makes one or more of the options more difficult. Thanks for the input in advance!
  9. I wouldnt get excited until the cash was in my hand but thats just me. With all the performance goodies like kevlar bands and alto usa friction clutches, one could expect to spend $1500-$1700 getting the trans rebuilt providing you pull it and reinstall it(my personal experience). I think most guys would be surprised how much fun an auto is when its working properly. GLWS!
  10. There is a write up on it sonewhere if you feel adventurous.
  11. What, no part number, Gig?? MB003170
  12. Ive got one but ive got $100 into it and i am a little leary of ahipping damage. If they come up nla get in tpuch Scotty and ill make it happen for you since you have helped out a lot of folks here. Jesse
  13. I remember reading your post quite some time ago and would check back every now and again to see if you had made any progress. Way to come through and make this a reality. The products look great and i hope they prove out to be quality options for the guys here. http://www.vwvortex.com/Anthony/Smilies/thumbup.gifhttp://www.vwvortex.com/Anthony/Smilies/thumbup.gif
  14. Not an obsolete part and I would consider it very important. RockAuto has a few to choose from and I wish I could give you the correct part number. Do some research here. Its all of $20 or $30. Now that i revisit this i was obviously thinking of the oil pressure sender... Sorry for that. Hopefully it still got you to check further for the part.
  15. 16x1.5 is the thread on the stock oil cooler.
  16. Ill get some pics for you tomorrow when its light out. Shipping would probably be $20 or so. Not horrible.
  17. I have one in great shape with a cap and hose also in great shape. PM me and Ill get you a very fair price on it.
  18. I have a set of rear SHP housings, no springs(they are toast anyways... they're 20+ years old!) with most of the innards removed. Just needs a bit more attention to get the front tokicos for a flatty to slide right in. $20 plus shipping
  19. Ive got a decent shape, not perfect, but not too bad silver header panel. $25 plus shipping. Let me know if you need any pics.
  20. You can cut the ends of that hose(removing the ferrules, of course) and go to orielys and have new hose crimped on to the stock ends. Easiest and cheapest solution.
  21. I cant see much gain in "performance" with poly over new stock ones. The bushing is all of 3/16" thick or so.
  22. I believe I have one as well. If you can wait till Friday for me to find it Ill give it to you for $15 shipped.
