  1. Yeah, there used to be a few more in Kinston but I haven't seen them in ages now. So besides mine, I can't think of any left in Kinston. At least any that are on the road. Hell, I haven't driven mine in months, but I know she'll fire right up after a charge. Hmm, I wonder if my friend still has that fully built head.
  2. Haven't posted here for some time. Anyways, I think I could blow the dust off my Conquest, charge the battery and get it washed to go to a meet. I'd prefer Myrtle Beach though.
  3. Yeah, it's an '89, didn't know that about the '89. And I can't try the passenger and hatch. I still haven't gotten around to getting a key made for'em since I got the car. Put it off since I haven't needed it. Guess now I've got a pretty good reason to. But the thing that really bothers me is even the starting the car doesn't shut it off. And I could've swore I read in the serveice manuals that should turn it off.
  4. I had to get a ETACS for it a few months back cause the wipers wouldn't shut off. It fixed the wipers but now the alarm works but not like it should. It sets regardless if the hood or hatch is open and without me holding the handle up when closing the door. Using the key to unlock the door isn't disarming it. Neither is starting the car disarming it, it continues to blare. Only way it shuts up is after it goes through it's 3 minute cycle, that or disconnecting the battery. So, do I need another ETACS or am I the only one that thinks it's insane that every sensor for the alarm could've gone bad? Or is there a way I can disable the alram all together?
  5. How much more difficult, if at all, is it to get in and out with the lower section of the door permanately in place now? I was just thinking that it looks like it'd be a bit tougher than just swinging your legs out.
  6. Yeah, I'm not going a for a full on Tofu delivery car.
  7. Do you mean the whole panel? If so, not at all. I think that breaks things up too much. If you mean just the little vent inside the panel, yeah, it's black.
  8. Made a new shift knob this week. It's nice when things add up in your favor. I like the number 13, my Camaro is orange and white and those are the same colors of the No. 13 pool ball. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v728/CountMonteCarlo/Camaro/100_7757.jpg It's slightly angled towards me. P.S. It is just too easy to do. Drill, tap, install. And getting the ball is easy too. I just asked the local billiards store if they had any old balls. Now who'll be the first to make that joke? P.S.S. Thinking about making a cue ball for the SQ.
  9. Here's the column. I thought you guys and gals would enjoy this read as much as I did and figure I'd share. If the pic isn't readable, then just hit up that local book store or any where Traditional Rod & Kulture magazine is sold. You'll be looking for issue #14. http://www.rodandkulture.com/uploads/issue_14_cover.jpg
  10. Bought an ETACS from the man. Totally honest about the parts condition and let me know ahead of time that if it didn't work he'd refund me. Arrived quickly through Fed-Ex, great packing as others have said and it worked just fine. Great seller.
  11. If that's a stock, working radio antenna PM me the price shipped to 28504 and paypal as well.
  12. Especially struts. Nothing fancy just good OEM replacement struts at a resonable price.
  13. My '67 is posted in the forums. Currently getting a new top, top motor, lines & cylinders and carpet. Also it's back to having working windows.
  14. Thanks all. No plans for blacking the grille out. I see a black grille and I think Starion. That and I don't like the way a black grille breaks up the flow of the front end since it wraps around with the side markers. Will definately be driving it alot more now. Well, that is once I get a working ETAC module for it. I perfer to be able to drive in the rain and see where I'm going.
  15. This is the module under the driver's seat. Shipping is to 28504. PM me if you've got one. I have no clue what they go for but I'm hoping it isn't too much.
  16. Well, took alot longer than I cared for it to, but it's done. Still need to have the wheels powder coated but that can wait I guess. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v728/CountMonteCarlo/Conquest/100_7685.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v728/CountMonteCarlo/Conquest/100_7686.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v728/CountMonteCarlo/Conquest/100_7688.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v728/CountMonteCarlo/Conquest/100_7689.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v728/CountMonteCarlo/Conquest/100_7690.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v728/CountMonteCarlo/Conquest/100_7691.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v728/CountMonteCarlo/Conquest/100_7693.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v728/CountMonteCarlo/Conquest/100_7694.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v728/CountMonteCarlo/Conquest/100_7695.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v728/CountMonteCarlo/Conquest/100_7696.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v728/CountMonteCarlo/Conquest/100_7697.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v728/CountMonteCarlo/Conquest/100_7699.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v728/CountMonteCarlo/Conquest/100_7700.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v728/CountMonteCarlo/Conquest/100_7701.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v728/CountMonteCarlo/Conquest/100_7702.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v728/CountMonteCarlo/Conquest/100_7703.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v728/CountMonteCarlo/Conquest/100_7704.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v728/CountMonteCarlo/Conquest/100_7705.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v728/CountMonteCarlo/Conquest/100_7706.jpg
  17. Wipers will only stop running by unplugging the wiper motor. Read some where this might mean my ETAC is shot. Any other possibilites? Wipers only work at normal slow and high, intermittant doesn't work. IF I do need the ETAC who here has one working they can give me a price on it shipped to 28504? Need this fixed ASAP, would like to get back to driving my SQ. Paint is done, got back from going over it with a felt pen circling all the trash and imperfections to be wet sanded out. If all goes well I'm picking her up hopefully this week.
  18. 4 in my town(including mine), 3 running one not. Only other person I know locally is Ono and he's got about 5, I think.
  19. Lets see, Within the first week of owning it I did some precautionary repairs. New accessory bets, A/C recharged, Rad inspected and flushed, new Rad hoses, new brake pads(front only), oil & filter change and that's was it. But upon the 2nd week of owning it some major items reared their ugly heads. New exhuast manifold relief cut and turbo outlet smoothed, new turbo(14G), new distributor, wires and plugs, new timing chain & balance shafts/chain(I know should've just elminated it)and that was it again. After not having a radio in it since owning it I finally got around to getting one in it. It would be beneificial for an engine overhaul to be done, but not really NEEDED yet, but it's slowly in the works. As is she smokes like a chain smoker. Could stand to have a set of valve seals. A couple of interior items could stand to be freshened a little. Suspension needs a rebuild, so a set of shocks/struts are in order. A front end rebuild would be very useful to keeping it straight. Oh and still need to fix that tank to tank neck hose leak. The previous owner installed an Exedy clutch, about a month before I bought it. Paint and body work is currently being handled and should be done next week. Emphasis on should, not the first time I've been told when it should be done.
  20. No, no , no, you don't go ahead and have the brakes on then drop the clutch. That's just making the clutch do double duty(also a good way to slip the clutch). Basically just launch the car at a high enough RPM to break the tires loose then grab the brakes the instant you come off the clutch and hammer on down on the throttle. If you do it right you'll do a standing burnout every time, unless of course you don't have enough front brake bias. I know the SQs can do it, did it with mine within the first week of owning it. If your going to do something stupid might as well and go all out and do it right.
  21. 4k RPM clutch drop then grab the brakes equals big smoke show. OR Broken parts that equal a really good reason to spend money on upgrades.
  22. Please tell me you went with '99 lifters. Or at least 2nd Gen lifters.
  23. No emissions tests on anything pre OBD-II or diesel. No Inspections required at all on vehicles 35 years old and older.
