  1. Send me pics... I have a 2001 Volvo S80. Maintained by dealer and all that.
  2. Do you still have the Louvers for it that are in your Sig picture? Been looking for one with the louvers for a while now.
  3. Hmm well i may be interested In getting rid of the CF hood that I bought in the group buy. It is sitting at my dads house in San Antonio Tx right now. I have not even seen it, just arived a week and a half ago. So far I have not found a replacement for my quest back in texas, so it is quite useless to have a hood and no car...... caviot to it is I am still looking for a quest and may still want to keep the hood. Curse David springer for buying up all the quests in Texas.......... dam him to hell    Bu ha ha ha
  4. pics???? i qm intertested.... i will build my quest pice by piece if i have too. crump
  5. Hey actualy dave the more I think a bout it .... would you happen to know where a decent roller is?? I want to strip one down anyway and my dad has a nice shop I can leave it in for a couple of years. ne got dads trailer to haul it. Oh and I really would like one with a sun roof. ut still could e interested in what you have now, just let me know the details. Crump
  6. Hey you know we sold the wifes little 96 Del Sol when we found out she was pregnant( Got an S80 great car) we LOVED that thing. It was just the SOHC VTEC but it had darn good handling and wss just the right size for her.... the TARGA top was the best part...... and it had darn good trunk room too. i think when we can have a 2 seater again we will probably get another one. Kind of cool looking too. not to sporty or too econimy looking. Crump
  7. Hi dave i am looking for a Long Block, an 89 5spd trany, and an 89-89 body with wheels... perferably all togather and running fine.... no need to worry about shiping to HI i will be there in like 4 months to pick it up  Crump
  8. Hey dave I shot you a PM about all the other stuff we have talked about. The phone numbers you sent me in the e-mail are not working right( probably cause i am out here in Hawaii). Sorry i have not gotten back to you earlier had a few things come up in my life around here that put all of my fun stuff on hold. I am still VERY interested in all that we have talked about. If you send me the numbers again I will try to call you again. I probably wrote your number down wrong or something, but i don't know as the wife has cleaned out the e-mail inbox. Thanks for your patiance with me. Crump
  9. oooooo....ooooooo I know...........what if we swaped the electric hybred stuff from the new hybred accords into our stuff???? Oh wait the whole point of a swap is more power...... never mind.... of course gas prices here in Hawaii are makeing me rethink the whole power / gas thing. i can understand why we had such a crapy run of cars in the eighties....

This is kind of cool to think about.... non turbo, but I love enginuitave solutions to problems. If they turbo this thing i might just order one form the maunfaturer. http://wheels.fosfor.se/new-six-cylinder-engine-from-volvo/

How about "Lower" friction engine........ exerpt from.. http://www.volvocars.com.my/FinancialServices/Fleet/Use.htm Improving engine efficiency Friction occurs in all engines due to contact between the various components, resulting in energy losses. Methods of lowering friction include reducing the mass of the valves and modifying valve operation. In a conventional engine, the camshaft opens and closes the valves at the same regular intervals, regardless of how the car is being driven. However, the initial position of the camshaft can be varied by sensing electronically how the driver wishes to drive the car, resulting in optimum efficiency in each individual situation. Variable valve control is nothing new. However, Volvo Cars has refined the technology to produce CVVT (Continuously Variable Valve Technology), which reduces fuel consumption and exhaust emissions when idling and when driving at normal speeds on the open road. More aggressive driving increases engine output. A third method is to reduce the resistance to ventilation of the engine crankcase gases, while a fourth is to lengthen the connecting rods to reduce the friction between the pistons and cylinder walls. Finally, energy losses can be reduced by using lighter moving parts. Making the crankshaft and pistons smaller also reduces engine weight and friction losses.> either way cant complain about the power and gas milage. The wifes S80 with the 2.9 N/A engine gets roughly 25-30 MPG in town...... and that is their biggest sedan......( of course it is probably only 300 pounds more than my fat girls but hey). any way they have newer Tech than us, so I won't complain

Yes they are but now I am looking at the weight issue and maybe the 2.5 5 cyl might be a better Idea..... got to find measurements for both engines and see where in the engine bay they would have to sit...... push back the firewall and all of that..... I started this out as ajokeing Idea but now i am really interested. Only down side is that Volvo aint exactly cheap... so not really a cost effective swap.... then again they last a good while. Any one has any of the dimentional info for these engines? I am measureing the wifes S80 seats tonight...... maybe they will fit... Bu ha ha ha. Crump

Actualy it is the twin turbo I6 they put in the S80 and XC90 (befor they went with the V8) but the thing is only pushing 5 psi and putting down Horsepower 268@5200 RPM Torque 280@1800-5,800 RPM stock!!!!! Low friction all aloy block and some other niceness.... did i tell you about the Frigging seats?? they go back to where you had them when you use your clicker ( handy when your wife is 5'5 and youy are 6'1) and they have heaters in the seats( useless out here in hawaii though)... Man do i love volvo!!1!!!!! too bad they are now owned by ford. Crump
