  1. Thanks Robert! I will get that update right away and let you know how it goes!
  2. And while you are at it start taking $20 bills and burning them .... it adds up quick, and you will run into unexpected problems Like he said there is a lot of information in the MPI forum. You should get an upgraded fuel pump while you are at it too. A lot of us run a Walbro 255lph in-line. I run 75# Delphi injectors (about 780CC) that use the stock style clips, on megasquirt 1 v3.0 Good Luck!
  3. hmm ... the reason I used that pvc was because I have no idea what I did with the stock one over the several years that the car sat with an engine in a thousand pieces. Thank you very much for the help guys! ... I figured it was something stupid I did
  4. I am not running the stock PVC ... and sure enough when I took it off I was able to blow through it the wrong way. I am pretty sure i am not detonating. I have been very mindful to turn up the boost slow, listen and pull the plugs to check them often. Can I get an oem pvc at the local parts store or is it dealer only item? Crankcase vacuum pump? I am not familiar with those
  5. Someone has to check that out, the story can't end there! LOL!!
  6. I am guessing those wire colors don't apply to my '86
  7. Chiplee is running that system. I am looking at picking it up too. Good Luck! Let me know how it goes.
  8. So on the way back from the NEPA meet this kid in an intergra wanted to play so I hammered on it and had no problem. About 5 miles down the road i noticed my oil pressure dropped from 60 psi to 40 and it was heating up real fast ... gulp Pulled over immediately and shut down leaving a trail of oil ... thought I killed it. I was almost 3 quarts low and the driver's side of the engine bay was a mess. Topped off the oil and everything cam back to normal. Looks like it came out of the dipstick connection to the oil pan like a fire hose! Since going MPI and having to bend that pipe back to make it work I have been skeptical of it being sealed. I have about 1500 miles on the new build and figured by this point everything should be broke in and seated properly so I didn't hesitate to floor it. I can't imagine what would have caused the crank case to build that kind of pressure unless it was blowing by. I was only pulling about 12 psi on the 18G Also saw that some oil came out of the separator vacuum line since I don't know where to hook that now. I need to check compression and make sure I didn't toast the head gasket. Thursday I should have time to check everything over twice. Took it easy on the rest of the hour and a half drive home and everything seemed great. That REALLY scared me! Ideas? Suggestions??
  9. Do you know the specs for that pump? I just bought a new Walbro 255lph GSL392 in line because the local Napa said they didn't have anything comparable
  10. Sounds like you guys had a blast! Wish i could have made it. Hopefully next time. I did hit the NEPA meet and had a blast there too.
  11. 75# Delphi injectors and a ported TD06 18G I have been thinking about shielded wire but i think i can built a small filter to try and smooth it out for me
  12. Running 75# Delphi injectors. Plan to run it up to 18 psi boost. Currently only running it to about 12 psi since I haven't tuned MS past that point yet. It is running fine and not leaning out right now. . but it does make me nervous.
  13. Well i made it home in one piece ... almost killed the car though Some kid in an integra wanted to play on the highway so I let him have it. He isn't nearly as fast as he thought he was but apparently at high RPM my car dumps oil out of the separator line. I have it connected but the line that used to go to the air filter pipe isn't. Since going MPI I don't know where to put it ?? Dropped about 3 quarts on the highway, saw the oil pressure drop 20psi over the next few miles and the temp started to skyrocket! Pulled over immediatly and left a nice trail of oil behind me. Scared the #%! out of me! Checked the oil and filled it up, pressure came back and coolant temp went back normal ... Thank God! Either way everything seems fine, now I just have to figure out a way to make it stop doing that. I had a GREAT TIME! Beer Pong till 5am is hurting me a little today Thanks for the hospitality Joe!
  14. Leaving the house in a minute. Going to pick up my cousin and bring him with, I hate being broke down alone Should be there about 4

    RX8

About 6 months ago my cousin bought a 2004 RX8 and ever since then he has been bragging about how "fast" it is and don't get me wrong it is quick. He has been begging me to race him since i got the Starion back on the road just a month or so ago, but I decline since I was trying to be nice during break-in. Got about 1500 miles on it and and said let's rock! Coming out of town and getting onto the 4 lane about 50 mph he pulls up next to me at hits it. Kinda caught me off guard (speed limit is 45 there). He quickly got a couple car lengths. Took me about 4 seconds to go by him like he wasn't moving! Looked down and the speedo was 110 ... figured time to slow down It was a quick race but he had absolutely nothing for me ... ahh ... soo nice to have her back on the road And this was on a very rough tune only running around 10psi boost
  16. Cool ... sounds good. See ya there! I can give you a hand tuning MS also if you like. I can't imagine MSII is that much different than mine btw .. I still need to fine tune. But that's what the ride there is for!
  17. Well Len .. Sorry to say I am officially not going to make it. I was really thinking about just hopping on a plane this morning but I can't afford it right now. I just dumped a ton of $$ into my MPI build. Next year I promise I will make it. Hope everyone has a GREAT time!
  18. I think I am having fuel pump issues but I am going to drive her anyways! I have been driving it all week without any real problems. So now I need an address to GPS so I don't get lost... even though I will anyways ... Tell me someone else will have an MPI car there. I want to compare and see how they did things.
  19. I just might be able to make it. Only about a 2 hour drive. Where could I crash for the night? Hell i can bring a tent if you have a big yard
  20. Fuel pressure is still fluctuating rapidly and in sync with a very distinct ticking that increases with the RPM. I think my pump no longer is able to keep up (it's 10+ years old) and when the injectors fire the pressure drops momentarily. Voltage and current to the pump are steady and the regulator is working fine with the car off. Going to get a new Walbro on the way ASAP and hope that does it.
  21. I also triggered off the tach output on the MSD box. Works like a charm.
  22. Hey Guys and Gals, Here is a link to my latest datalog, Fuel and AFRmaps, and my msq file I am currently running. I think things look pretty good. I need to play around with TPS acell some more and at points it seems to be going richer that needed under boost but hey, trying to keep it safe. Looks like my wideband signal is a little noisy. I tried putting a capacitor on the signal line to smooth it out a bit but it didn't make much difference. Maybe a bigger cap is needed, I will have to crunch some numbers again. Let me know what you think. Thanks! 23. Looks like i am in the minority. I used a felpro for the head torque plate during boring/honing but went with the Ajusa for the build. Reading up on it seems like a better gasket?? Personal preference I guess.
  24. I have still neglected most of the harness removal just in case something went wrong i could switch back to the stock ECU .. but now that its MPI there's no turning back. I have to change a heater core so the dash is coming off anyways.
